I think the interior needs a bit more thought, and waiting for ones with some nice wheels. :)

Yeah i know what your saying, i thought so too.. Went down to Racetech to see if i could plate the Gumpert Appollo which is blue, and i didnt think gold would go with blue, but the badges are already gold... Not 24ct though :p
My bf has the Chrysler Hemi 300 in silver and he wants some work doing :)
But thank you all feed back very welcome
Thanks

Gold has worked with Blue for Alpina for quite a while - so don't give up hope.

Platinum plating might be the way forward!!!

Very bling. I love the touches in the engine. I think the interior would probably look better in person than in the pics.

Thanks again guys.. We do all carats of gold, even green gold is available and im looking into blue gold for some egyptian heads that were plating, we also do rhodium which i think looks amazing, white gold and silver.

It is smooth gold, This Audi is photoshopped, so maybe thats why it looks like that. I cant say i had noticed though. The car we have done is a red escort and it doesnt do what we are doing any justice so we thought we'd play around with photoshop so you get the concept in its full beauty!!!!!
I also have a pic of the rear of the Audi which looks amazing, especially the twin exhaust!! Just couldnt find it when i was searching then, i hope i havent deleted it.

Interesting idea Sarah. If marketed properly, I think there is potential

Gold plating components of the engine bay was used my McLaren to increase efficiency in heat dissipation in their all conquering F1.

Couple that with asthetics, such an idea might just sell :)

Is anyone else thinking the same thing as me?

A gold plated limited edition Gyrominge. Hell I could make millions

I have to say that gold on cars reminds me of the mid 90's and the Lexus GS 300 with the gold badges - it does look trick on the black Audi but I cannot see that many people would want it done - also if it is plated then it will wear quite quickly as well or do you do something to protect it.

Well where do i start... It is gold plated and it isn't going to last forever, but we do give an 18month guarantee. The process which we use hardens the gold and makes it harder wareing and it does have a protective coating. And if your like most car modding driven people, who their absolute passion apart from the obvious (family etc..) is to make their baby that bit more special and spend money on other mods like powder coating wheels black and getting new CSL or other make of kits for their cars and having to treat or have them resprayed after time for all the stone chips etc, it doesn't seem that far fetched to have to maintane it, does it???? This idea isn't going to work for everyone, but i think for those that it would work for it really does add a really special touch done correctly. Not done properly and it will look like the Lexus!!! EEEWWWW :(
This car was just a demo car to play with, i thought it was a perfect car to show that even though gold plating might make some people relate to the likes of a Lexus.... It can look very classy and special and like Nick also says, it can be productive too. Thank you

Hi. Personally, I think unless you're pitching this to rich Arabs outside Harrods - you're going to have a very limited clientele.

Most car enthusiasts will look for something that will keep in line with a sporty/heritage look, carbon fibre has always been the front runner there. On the flip-side, the modern metro-sexual will most likely favour brushed Aluminium trim pieces.

I really do think that Audi R8 wouldn't look out of place with a UAE plate outside Harrods though - food for thought? Harrods have a Ferrari 599GTB and a Maserrati in their window display, so perhaps liasing with one of the departments could get you, your foot in the door?

Good luck :)

I can appreciate what your saying Raja, but i do disagree a little, were not talking thousands of pounds here, im trying to be the middle man and our prices will be as low as we can make them. Some projects will be a little costly and maybe there isnt a market for it in this area, but it is a burning passion of mine and i will be giving it my all to at least try and make it work.. Interesting idea about Harrods, thank you for your feed back

How about plating with different materials, how about chrome silver etc???

That could widen you opertunities, more market that way

Best of luck for the future hope its a success
