Finally managed to swap out my exhausts on the weekend from my Supersprint Racing box to a Lightweight Racing box.

Love the noise, however coupled with the SS Non Resonated centre it booms quite badly at around the 2k mark, the old box did to a degree but this is pretty loud, the box is louder so its just sound resonating.

Would dynamatting my boot help reduce the boom?

The noise with the windows open is awesome, I just need to reduce the boom in car without sacraficing too much noise...if that makes sense!

Anyone done this to good effect?

they have done it in america. it does work, as long as you dynamite it well.

:D :D ............... KABOOOOOOOM!

Yes, Dynamatting will work to a certain degree but I think you'll still find it intrusive. The resonance is through the entire chassis, not just from under the boot.

Ok I thought it might help, I'll grab some dynamat extreme tomorrow methinks.

The overall sound is lovely but the resonance is a bit too much.

Part of me wishes I hadn't bothered with it now!

Yeah will do, I've managed to sort a maintenance window out with the missus lol, so i'll be fitting all the bits I got from Teddy, plus putting some Dynamat Extreme in the boot too...

Would be interested in the results as well. I want to remove a hint of boom in the cabin on my M5. Had thought about dynamat but left it till now as wasn't sure of the outcome and it's not a major problem

i think Raja SMG did something to fix this on his M3.

I added the "Supersprint Center Section with Resonator" and it really did help with the boom and just sounds amazing. This exhaust convinces you into believing your M3 is faster than no-other :D

Ok cool, I thought it could be done, I was pretty shocked the difference in boom from the lightweight racing box over the racing box, I reckon the boom is 2 or even 3 times louder, at cruise the exhaust isn't that much louder....bizarre.
