I'm thinking of having my drivers seat re-upholstered because of a bit of wear that bugs me, are the seats easy to remove? or is there a good repair kit on the market that somebody can recommend?

seats aren't too difficult to remove, but alittle risky with the airbag warnings etc..

you might like to try a good leather cleaner/restorer before ripping out the seats etc.. www.liquidleather.co.uk (nick swears by this stuff).. might be able to replenish lost tear n wear.. Meguiars Gold Class leather polish is good too..

should be quite easy to remove front seat (4 bolts) but remember to remove battery terminal and the air bag sensor before u yank the seat off. Posh Leathers in London will retrim your entire car (inc door cards) for 800 and will even lend u a temporary seat whilst they work on it.

Cool. I've ordered the scuff master kit for £12.65 from LiquidLeather, according to them this should do the trick.

They have hundreds of happy customers online and offline. a friend of mine had her e30 M3 retrimmed and she's well happy with the result. she paid extra to have a custom 'M' logo in each seat.

I've found a couple of experts in my area, anybody heard of ForeCourt, based in Solihull (I think), they do alot of work for BMW, if things get tricky then they call in a guy called "Mr Darn" based in Shirley who restores/retrims old classics.

Another company i've found is called Tanners, they do alot of custom work for an ICE shop just next door to them in Kings Norton.

..just my luck to find that all these guys closed early today due to this bloomin bank holiday, ..ah well. I queuried the removal of the drivers seat too and all you have to remember is NOT to put the key back in the ignition until the seat is put back in and the plug for the electrics is plugged back in otherwise you WILL get an Airbag warning, you don't even have to remove the battery [cool

I would like to have my drivers seat done. I was looking in EPC and all of the leather and foam parts are availible from BMW, but at what cost? Also it doesn't look like they can be replaced easily, they would probably still need a pro to do that, any comments?

You could get a rough cost from Here (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/) , I know it is in US Dollars but you can usualy get an idea by coverting to UK Pounds and that will give you a rough idea.

Ouch! $490 per part! I don't think this is an on/off swap job either is it? Maybe I should look for a written off coupe with Red sports leather.

There is a guy on e36coupe.com called Sleeper, who will do a top job. He trims for Rolls Royce.
