When I was reading other members threads about cars being stollen/burglary I did not think it would ever happen to me. Here we go...
Today at 0120 I arrived home as I was helping a friend of mine to move a house. Realised that I forgot my mobile in his car. About 0155 drove to his property, picked up the mobile, drove back. It all took me 20-25 mins. When I arrived back I realised that a spare set of wheels which was kept behind my car (its a gated property) is not there. AC Schnitzer Type 3 with 2 new tyres...fuck

Just finished giving my statement to the police.

All I am hoping now is that CCTV is gonna reveal the details of burglary. Fine, its not the end of the world, but this is just that feeling of bitterness...

sorry to hear that, it must be gutting. You're right, it isnt the end of the world but still enough to cause un-needed stress. twats :(

I've had numerous sets of wheels just sat out back over the years, while chopping and changing. Fortunately none of them have ever gone walkabout, but I wont be leaving them out again!

sorry to hear that Alex, but perhaps you should have kept the wheels in a more secure location? Those bastards would take any chance mate.

That must be really shoking!
I have been told today that the problem is if you hurt any of these fucking thieves then the police may arrest you.
I would honestly kill the bastard and bury the body in my garden even if I have to do 10 years in prison.

You are right, but as I said it it a gated property and I did not realise that such thing may happen to me. Wheels are completely hidden from the street and were kept behind my car so I guess they were just lucky to find my wheels. It could have been someone's bike or anything else.

Interestingly, the original set of BMW wheels with new Pirelli tyres was not taken though it was right next to ASC wheels  I guess they went for more expensive wheels.

Today I have moved BMW wheels into a secure storage and now going to see soneone to retrieve the CCTV recording.

Not really sure as they were at the car park right next to my car and I think insurance is covering only my flat not the car park.
So not sure I can claim the wheels back.

To be honest it was not a big loss as rims had to be refurbished as
I believe I trashed the wheels at a track and two wheels buckled

Unfortunately, new Eagle F1 tyres have gone as well :(

The burglary took place at 16:34 on 26/02/08 (cannot believe it, during a day time) according to CCTV cameras. As my neighbour was driving off and the gates kept opened for about 10 secs, a merc minivan drove in, a fucking twat came out looking for an easy pick up, picked up my wheels then they drove off, but could not get out as they did not know the code for the gates. My another neighbour let me out (cannot believe it either)

The CCTV snapshots

Stopped to have a look

If I ever find this twat I'll kill him...He is searching

He saw my wheels so making a U-turn to pick them up

Having picked up the wheels, stopped to open the gates

This is a girl who came with the thief in minivan trying to bullshit
the residents via intercom so that they can open the gates for her.
"Excuse me, we came to see....but ...can you please open the gates for me?"

She is talking to my neighbour asking him for a code for the gates

And what do you think??? He gave the code without hesitation

Now big favour for me guys....
If you see this minivan (has got a very dark tint around, black or dark blue colour and door steps installed, I am not sure about the number plate as the images are very poor from CCTV so I am trying to photoshop the shots to read it) anywhere or know whereabouts of it or have any details please let me know. Particularly It concerns SW and SE but could be E areas.

Alex give the images to the police they will have some video enhancing tools and I am sure they'd be able to read the plate and find the registered address of that van. just hope it's not registered stolen though

gosh did you neighbour give them the code???
