Thinking ahead to the 'Ring trip in April, what are the rules around GB sticekers/number plate emblems etc.?
My plates do not have the Blue Euro GB emblem, and I don't really want them to have either. Nor do I want to 'stick' a GB sticker or GB Euro badge on the car.
I drove round Europe in 2006 and my plates did have the sign on them then, but I saw many British cars without any sign on them. Likewise, I see many cars from Europe over here without any country emblem on.
Are these compulsary? Or just advisory?
I looked in Halfords for a magnectic badge as a compromise, but they only had the stickers......
Dont think its comulsory i maybe rong however, If you ony want it when your abroad best thing just get a set of plates made up with it on.

The EU flag / GB sign on your number plate now replaces the traditional GB sign

Very likely you will not be hassled. However, it's a requirement. If there's anyone who's going to give you problems, it'll be the French police. But you're only in France for a short period of time.

Yes, but is displaying a GB emblem (of any kind) compulsary?
Think Nick said it is bro

So its a risk you take by not having the badge then...
Cool. Thanks.

sorry to hijack the thread but I wasn't sure on this.... In the isle of mann, do you also have to display the gb sign? I know its within the UK but they're on their own registrations etc. It's just I'm taking the new bus over to the manx rally in july and dont want stickers plastering on the paintwork!
Just get a rear plate with the GB on. You can put it on just for the journey through and then take it off again. I think you only need to have one on the back.

yeah I'd just get a pair of plates made up with the GB on them, I think the plates look better with them on tbh :)

For the sake of a couple of quid just get the euro/gb sticker for the left hand side of the plate, descreet and removeable. I have the euro plates from fancy plates.

Yeah, about 6 minutes :D :D :D
And that 6 mins you will have a lot more incriminating actions than not displaying a GB sticker!
