Caught speeding? points?

Hi people,

Thought i'd start a thread that could make interesting reading after a few replies!

How many points do people have? what was it for? speeding? jumping lights? or whatever. do you feel it was justified that you received the points?
Or have you had near misses! i.e. caught speeding and let off?

I had 3 points but they come of my licence 2 months ago. caught my copper with his gun doing 36! in a 30...
And was pulled while on my way back from london on sunday morning for doing 40 in a 30 but they where cool about it and let me of! (thought the car was stolen because its registerd on the isle of wight and i'm driving through london in a black BM with blacked out windows at 2am)

Well, I am not proud of this.

18 months ago on my old Mk3 Gold GTI I was caught doing 83mph in a 50mph zone. However the road is straight and also a dual-carridgeway but the limit is only 50mph. Conditions were perfect and roads were clear (8.15am). The kind police were sat just behind a sign with a hand held laser gun (or whatever they are called) and clocked me doing 83mph with 3 other people in the car. I got pulled over and then received summonds to court shortly after.....

I went to court and received....... 21-day ban & £250 fine. :mad:

Insurance, well..... £198 increase!
