CSL CF bootlid,

hi everyone,

just have a little question concerning the CSL CF boot-lid, how much lighter is it from OEM? 20%-30%? or way more?

Also does anyone have contact for GTR bonnet (vorsteiner style) for dec-2001 reg pre-facelift 300CI SE? as far as I've read, CA and SSDD don;t supply a direct fitment, but can alter to suit. Anyone have advice on that?

I've seen a ebay seller doing the bonnet VIS GTR Hood, but I don't have any experience shipping from US, he said they can only ship to a local airport, and then I'll have to declare tax and others...

Hi mate,

I came accross this weight saving chart with Vorsteiner weights versus OEM weights It gives weight savings for all Vorsteiner e46 parts including the the CF CSL bootlids:

Of course if you buy Vorsteiner 'style' products the weights will vary according to the how they were manufactured materials used etc but hopefully the pdf will give you a rough idea of the weight saving

I have one, can't tell you how much lighter it is buy shutting the boot is alot hard with the boot now being so light. I think your find the OEM non CF boot is simular in weight as it's made from plastic.

Juts watch your face when opening a CF CSL bootlid. You'll be amazed how much more leverage there is!

a CF bonnet and boot lid for me (full CF) would save me only 17 KGs , wonder if it would make a difference on the car ?
