Guys,
I am about to order some new tyres up to replace my current tyres which look a little stretched on my new wheels.
Do you think it's safe to run a 245/35 and 285/35 combination on my wheels or will this cause handling problems? I would run a 285/30 in the rears but I have been offered a very good deal on some P-Zero Rossos which i'd like to try.
I understand 275 or 285/30 would be the way forward but was wondering if there would be a handling / safety trade off by trying out the 35's....

I think running 285/35 will give you a lot of rub, the tire wall hieght on a set of these would very high. But i guess in depends on what suspension you are running and the actual tyre wall topology.
I will be running with 275/30 myself on a 10J rim, the tire wall height is almost the same as what you get with 235/35, so front and rear profiles will match.

If the tyres don't foul your rear arches, I doubt you'll feel any significant difference in driving on daily roads anyway. They will look really bulky though!

Ok cheers chaps, lucky I asked!
I was going to go down the 275/30 route myself but after looking at some BBS CH's on the cars in the states I didn't like they way the tyre looked as it still retained an element of 'stretch' which I do not like.
I think i'll get some in 285/30 this time round and see how they are :)

I reckon a little strech looks good, if you running 235 at the front on 8.5 they look a little streched anyway, i will see how my 275 falkens look on my 10J rims. I know they will look a bit stretched but hopefully they will look nice, especially if you get them spaced out with the lower profile, they look pretty aggressive! :D

I have 235's on my 8.5 fronts and they dont look as stretched as my 265's on 10J rims atm :o
I'd be interested to see how the Falken 275 looks, as Falkens always seem a tighter fit than other brands of tyre!
Maybe i should stick with 275 on the rears, might give these Goodyear Asymmetricos a whirl....
