Finally worked out at the w/end that I cannot get Aluminium Pillar look on the ci sport. Only trim offered is black cube. My local $tealer was completely useless: he knew far less about BMW than me (which compared to some of you guys, is nothing), wasn't interested in selling me individual range (they had a lovely car in the showroom and he didn't even know the colour) and only wanted to sell me a car he wanted to buy back really cheaply in three years time. It was 2.5 hours of wasting my f***ing time. Twat tried to sell me some car that had been built 4 months ago and it didn't have half the spec I wanted and had other stuff I didn't want. Plus he was £3000 more expensive than Sytner in the City.
I will have to retrofit the pillar. But what do you think goes best? Sapphire black with yellow nappa (done at B-trim or Luxury leather), Sapphire black with champagne individual leather or Mystic blue with champagne?
All views appreciated.

Dude, my answer to your question is get to a dealer that knows how to sell cars properly. If you start a purchase with all the BS your currently having to sift through, you can bet your bottom dollar, the aftersales will be CRAP. You're paying a lot of money for the car you want, you want the aftersales to go with it.
Trust me, go to another dealer and speak to someone that actually knows.
Also, with light leathers, be prepared for major maintenance. I know someone with Ecru leather, they have to clean it every time they use the car, even the blue dye from jeans gets rubbed on it. It looks amazing when new, but after a year - 18 months, it's going to look grubby.

I agree with Fas. Light leather looks awesome on show cars but if it's going to be your daily drive, it will be a pain to mantain. Champange looks awesome but not very preactical at all. Have you seen black Nappa on an E46? Very very classy!
I would go balck on black, get your aluminium pillar trim and throw in AC Schnitzer accessories. The silver/black combo is classic!

Cheers All
The Sytner dealer in the City was excellent. Knew his stuff and was a real enthusiast. We talked about the ACS mods and getting B-trim to do the leather if I could no longer get it with BMW. Talked about Cooks Ferry for the M3 mirrors etc and they were nearly £3000 cheaper than crappy Lind BMW in Maldon.
I found out the price for the individual champagne.....  approx £1800+ more. Mmmmm, way too much.
I think it'll be the yellow retrofit then. For me and the wife fully black interior looks too dark, cramped and austere imo. I know the pillar trim will brighten but I want to have different coloured seats.
Regards to the jean dye staining, does this happen even if you use liquid leather's products?
Nick, what about blackberry and keeping it clean? I'll only use car at w/ends and do wash daily :D.
One last extra question.. Silver aluminium cube trim, i can't find any pictures on web. Does it look any good? I think the pillar looks far better.
