View Full Version : New Shoes...But Old Style
Well finally got round to taking some pics of the new rims.
Although they are nothing out of the ordinary, they fit my criteria of having to be BBS, having to look schweeeet and having to be light....
So from this:

Very nice:) :) :)
Cheers all. They are a classic but really fit the bill. Plus they will really help with showing off the brakes...LOL.
Only going with fronts at the mo as rears is a bit of a waste and to be honest no one I have spoken to so far does a rear kit using BBK calipers. But I do have a plan possibly for the rears.

Brembo ......... you know it's a drug ;)

PMSL... It is dropped on an Eibach Prokit. Just makes you realise how much of a tractor the MkIV Golf is standard....LOL
Nice one Raj,

They are from a company called Compbrake. They started out as pretty much just Race orientated. They have now moved into "normal" applications. Their kit uses brand new Brembo Calipers (come in Red, Yellow or Ferrari CF), obviously chose red for so many reasons. They use their own mounting brackets and bells with Powervane grooved discs and Hawk pads.
Proper cheap for what is included....:D

Tell you what Nick, you aren't wrong about Brembo calipers. The quality is just phenominal and they are stunning to just look at.
Raj- looking good bro, but as said been before think it needs to be dropped more Coilovers :D

To be honest, I'm quite content for the moment. The problem with coilies is that even on the prokit the rears have got a lot of -ve camber and you have to buy adjustable tie arms to sort it (about £300), then the coilies themselves (another £600 or more), so it starts getting very expensive.

compromise between enough ride height to clear speed humps and reducing gap between tyre and wheel arch.
I have about 4.5" clearance between the ground and bottom of my splitter.

Sat in my garage at the mo. Not sure whether to get rid or keep 'em for winter. Decisions, decisions...

That's just it. The V6 now looks a lot better and doesn't look to bad in the flesh, but the clearance does mean I can give it some without thinking about speed bumps, etc...LOL

I think the ride height is spot on TBH! with some spacers it will look great, just the pics probs thats not showing the ride height.
The anni kit bloody expensive, and is better than the R32 IMO! Flows so nice on a red car.
Raj you should have the jewel rear style lights! it will look good!!

I am pleased with the height and to be honest there are other things that the money can go on...LOL
I have the Anni front valance and R32/Anni roof spoiler. Got them on a deal so couldn't refuse. I have just kept the standard rear valance and had it colour coded as I have a Milltek. I do like the R32 kit but I really didn't want it to be a total wanna be in the looks department. The only reason I would get the R32 front bumper would be to house the intercooler if I ever S/C'ed it...:D as the intercooler won't fit behind the standard bumper properly.
What are the Jewel rear lights? Link?

Rear lights are nice but would they stand out on Raj's car because of the colour ??

I can't believe how much you've got done to that motor in such a short period of time. Can't wait to see it in the flesh. Are you at the meet on Sunday?
Cheers again all.
I do like the US rear clusters but again I have other things to spend the money on at the mo... .

True now that you say that they look like the clips used on older Porsches.

To be honest, although it does feel quick, I think the thing with the 4motion is that the Haldex does zap a lot of the power. Don't get me wrong, I still think it goes very well and that is more due to it being a lot lighter than the BMs.
Cheers for the offer...LOL, but I think i'll get these fitted first to see how they are...:D
