My dad retires in March, and after like 40 years of a company car he will hav to go it alone now.

Currently we have comapny car, mums car and mine.

I insure mine with mum on, mums insures hers with mum on and both me and dad.

With dad having no no claims whats the best option to do, it will be a shared car with no real sole user, who should insure it?

Legally can me or mum insure another car?

thanks for any adivce given

I'm pretty sure Tracey insures both our cars in her name but I'm the main driver of the 530 she is main driver of the X5.Speak to your present insurer and see if you get get a multi car policy with 3 named drivers.

Your Dad may be able to get a discount on his insurance.

Ask company to write a letter which states how long yor dad had a company car and the amount of year he has not claimed. Some companies give discounts and some doesn't

Most insurers will take a company letter into account for confirmation of NCB. As to the spare car, Admiral Multicar is way and above the best bet I found, but wherever you go your Mum or you are allowed to insure more than one car, it's just that you can only use your NCB on one car at a time.

Elephant allowed me to insure my other car on another policy and used my same NCB thats use for my M3. And mate was in a similar situation and they took into account him being insured on a comapny car.
