Hi,

The convertible hood, when up squeaks a little bit when going over a bumpy road, I read on another BMW forum that this is normal with the uprated suspension (mtech) I also read that you could replace some seals or similar which minimised this? Not that it is particularly squeaky, just curious really

thanks :)

This is normal and a pain in the ass. It just means the rubber seals around where the roof meets the windscreen AND where the roof meets the bonnet lines is drying out. Get some rubber seal nourisher, I have some from Zymol. Apply this regularly and it'll help ease the issues.

nice 1 fas, was gonna try and put some stikky foam pad strip underneath the edges of the parcel shelf or whatever it's called. Will try the lube tonight and post back

did this this morning, and no squeeking now! Also lubed the window rubbers, much better!

The trick now is to maintain the softness of the seals. Every time you wash your car, re-apply the lube to keep the rubber nourished and it'll stay squeak free.

Got the same problem with my car. Sorry for asking a silly question, but how/where do you apply the rubber seal nourisher?? From the inside or outside [hmm

drop the roof, along the top of the windscreen you will see the rubber where the roof joins the top windscreen line. That's where you need to moisturise. Secondly, at the back where the roof meets the tonneau cover, again, that could do with a little lube.

Fas, where did you purchase the Zymol rubber seal nourisher from bro? I tried Halfords today and my local car supply store and both did not stock [hmm

They're based in Weybridge and you can collect if you want to Stevo (they do next day del if not), so if you fancy a cruise then there's an excuse. ;)

Has anyone got a pic reference of where I should be putting the rubber seal nourishment? I've tried to put it where the windscreen meets the roof and also where the back of the roof meets the roof meets the tonneau cover [hmm Still getting a lot of squeaking

I've also put some down the ruuber window seals, but I think I've done this wrong as now when I wind the windows up and down, they are picking up the lube onto them

Cheers guys [bow
