Hi

Have not been on this site for quite a while as I sold my BMW, been lurking around for a couple months, so decided to do the decent thing and say hello.

Can anyone recommend a good body shop Milton Keynes, Luton, Northampton areas or adjacent.

Thanks

Thanks Alex, it's a bit of a trot, but I can see that they have an arrangement with a national car hire company, so have you used them yourself or have they been recommed to you.

I have used them to do several birds drop-outs as well as to do very deep scratch and spray rear wing on my 325Ci. Very quality job!

Thanks, second question to members who have fitted short shift kits,

1/what is the real world expectation of this modification, does it actually improve the feel and quality of the gear change or does it just lessen the travel of the gear stick, will it remove some or all or the notchy feel of the change.

2/ What manufacturer is the best buy, not looking for budget kit, but the best in your view.

Thanks again

welcome back :)

1. ssk does change the feel of the gear change but opinion varies. They shortens the travel between gears hance create quickers shift. It will not remove the notchiness at all and some manufacturer's kit wil actually increase the notchy feel/resistence of gear change.

2. Rogue enginerring is generally considered the best kit out there but if you do not like the notchy feel then you might want to consider other kits out there.

Thanks Teddy,

with the Rouge kit is there any adjustment with the height of the gear stick, and can you still use the original gear knob.

Welcome Mate !

I had a ACS Short Shift on my 330ci.

I loved it, feels much heavier.. and shorter, but as Teddy says will increase the notchy feeling for sure.
