View Full Version : Test Drove an '05 SLK 280 Yesterday

Went down to my local garage and test drove a 2005 SLK 280 yesterday (sorry no pics as cant seem to get them off my phone).

It was Iridium SIlver, with the AMG bodykit, looked really good. However, I must say I was rather dissapointed. Felt as if there was no power, and just no oomph there. Handling was ok, but still not what I expected.

Interior was nice tho, had black leather, and liked the general feel inside

However, at £65k, it was rather pricey. Dont think I want one anymore, and will probably carry on looking for an E46 M3 out here.

erm, last time i checked an slk 280 was nowhere near 65k.

Lol no thanks :D . I've kind of had enough of that, to last me a lifetime, and some more. EEuuugghh getting flashbacks again, not good :eek: :(

Try a 350 ;) Very noticable difference.

Great poser car though. KL chicks love them ....... :D

M3s are only RM230k-260k now, much better value than any sporty Merc in KL.

You should try the usual places like The Star and Malay Mail classifieds.

You can also speak to Calvin Tan on BmwClubMalaysia he has a very nice one and knows a whole lot about them. The dealer of my last two cars in KL (an E39 and a W203 merc) can also source you one... Kenny at KH Auto 019-2160488.

Also, a drive down from KL to Jalan Kuching towards Batu Caves will reveal many miles of import car dealers if you want to sniff out one on-site.

Am in Sabah at the moment, but if I am not moving to Aus and staying here, will prob go to KL and searchthere. I'll give these guys a ring come the time, and hopefully get a nice one from KL and ship it back to Sabah :)
