Hi I am a newbie, great site!
I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice!
I have recently purchased an E46 Convertible BMW and I wanted to put some ASA AR1 alloys on it, I have found a good set in Germany in 19", however the chap said they would require a small amount of arch work to get them on at the rear.
The wheels in 8,5/9,5/19 with 235/35 and 265/30ZR19 tyres Wheels offset is 39 front and 40 rear.
Do you think these would fit without arch work on the uprated m-sport suspension?
The car also has Harmon Kardon hifi in it, is it possible to add a sub & amp to this? - It has the MD headunit and 6 disk changer too!
any advice would be really appreciated!
thanks in advance :)

Hi Rob and welcome.
The fronts look fine, the rears will need your arches rolled. If they were slightly more agressive, e.g. 44 or more, they would fit straight on.
However, don't let arch work put you off. On an e46 it's very painless. Just need someone to heat up the inner arch and pull out some (lots) of filler. Take it to a pro as they will then seal the arch up to ensure it's not prone to any rust.
Where are you based? There's a company called R-Tec in Hertfordshire which I know a few people have used with no issues.

I have a more agressive offset with 10"wide rears and i get no rubbing what so ever, maybe its the tyre though, Falkens are very stretched at 265. i would say at that offset you may get away with it depending on what tyres you go for.

So you think that the wheels would be ok? the tyres are hankook ventus or Dunlop
would the wheels fit but there would just be some rubbing or are we talking not fitting at all?
any ideas on the sub?
thanks for the quick responses!

The wheels will definitely fit (assuming they're for an e46, i.e. PCD is also correct). At worst, you'll get rubbing, even that will be relatively minor.
As for the amp. Yes, you can add an amp and sub to HK. I've done the same

Was told 35, my rears are on line if not a little further out than the arches. I think the only thing stopping the rubbing is the tyre.
Dont know if the offset is right though, just what i was told?
My be able to see on this pic?

Is it a big job to fit the sub and the amp? does it work well off the stock headunit? There isnt a wiring guide anywhere is their?
thanks for all your advice!

As with all things, installing a sub and amp is easy if you know how. I don't. We have a guy on the forum, Icecold, he'll answer any install questions you may have
