My gf is looking to buy an mg tf and has found this one on ebay. I can't see anything obviously wrong but it does seem a bit to cheap. Does anything look out of the ordinary / could this be a scam?

Is there meant to be a link here or something ?
If it's an MG they will be cheap due to no dealer support/ parts availiblity etc...

MGs are cheap as chips - or should be - so compare to the market value.
He claims the MGTF is completely different to the MGF - so he might need some educating - prettyy much the same chassis and engines - and the interior wasn't updated much.
The MGF was incredibly badly made with engines complete with huge flat spot and handling that was far from perfect. For the money opt for an older MX5 with 1.8 engine and 5-speed gearbox - it is a gem.

dont touch them cars - truthfully they are shit !!
my girlfriend decided she wanted one and after a million people telling her she still bought one - it was 3year old at the time with no miles on it whatsoever
The amount of money we ploughed into the car was unreal
They are prone to head gasket problems (hers went and two of her friends cars did too)
I told her to buy an mx5 but she didnt listen - she has since sold it and got a new StreetKa - the best move for her

Seems to be a new company selling cars, but looks like he's sold a couple just fine before Christmas. Maybe he just wants to move it on, or maybe it's a repaired or stolen/rec that he got cheap. Other than the fact it's an MGTF, and therefore a much less wise buy than an MX5, I'd say it's worth a peek. Maybe ask the seller if it's available to view and where etc, then ask a nearby member to drive past and see if it's actually there?

My boss has got a MGTF and it is allways in the garage being fixed.
she phones me all the time asking for a lift to work because it buggerd again.
i would'nt touch it if i were you, as the others have said get a MX5 or MR2.

As others have said they are prone to head gaskets, build quality isn't great, but if your girlfriend wants one do what Dan said,go have a look.

Or got a new girlfriend - which would probably end being less hassle and cheaper than buying the MG
