Notice that a few people on the forum have installed Double Din Headunits into their cars, found this post of E46 Fanatics. Might save people having to modify and fabricate their heater boxes too much:

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=534203

This is the german ebay link. The guy seems to have good feedback.

Thats awesome, double din installs in e46's are seeming to get easier and easier to do!

Although I def think that if this product was easier to get hold of in the UK as opposed to ordering from Germany and then having to order the bezel from the US, a lot more people would be doing the double din installs here in their e46's!

lol!

I meant that if all the parts were available in the UK (or ofc Goat Land) then I think more people would be tempted to do it. I held off doing my vehicle hub install for a long time simply cos I didn't want to order the bezel from the US! If someone started selling them here I would have done it yonks ago.

Out of curiousity, how comes you got your 202 from HK?? Do they not sell it in Saudi??

Yeah what he said ^^

The don't have the 202 in Saudi , so my options were HK , UK and the US here are the problems with UK and US version for me,

UK: exchange rate is a killer which made it cost same price of the HK unit+shipping , and its not region free DVD.

US: same price as HK , but Radio tuner is wrong because in Saudi we use the Euro system and its not DVD region free too.

HK price was good , had region free and worked with Radio system over here.

Iv been looking around at double din headunits, does anyone know what the difference is between the W200, and the 202?

202 has built in high pass filters and 5 tilt angles as opposed to the 3 tilt angels of the 200. They're the differences I know of off the top of my head.

I know the US models have additional radio functionality as well with regards to sirius.

Steve m8, the second part of the explanation is in English, what do you need translating? Let me know and I can do it for you.

LOL

it says they are not for right hand drive cars, but they will be out in 2 weeks, I tried to contact the seller, putting my English question in the message box, hoping the guy is better at reading English than I am with German :o when I hit send it wouldn't go and a question came up in German, so that was that

I want one for the E46 - right hand drive M3 - if he has them how do I purchase as once you go past the front page there's no English so I'm well and truly stumped :(

I bought 2 double din bezels from this guy, for 7" touchscreen installs. Very good quality!

You can even get the bezel before final finish which is cheaper.

Select the last option on the drop down thing just above the message, its the same as in the UK where you select what your question is about, just select "general question about this item" or "Allgemeine Fragen zu diesem Artikel" that should fix it.

the double din kits are universal; RHD or LHD no difference.

Well I got my kit and I fitted it over the weekend.

The double din facia was an excellent quality and fit. The mounting cage was a good fit and did a nice job.

The bracket that you are suppose to use to fit straight into the heater box was useless as it is only designed for LHD cars, I have tried to contact the seller and he doesn't reply to any emails!

So I butchered this about and made my own measurements up for the RHD after a couple of attempts I have got it all installed and working as sweet as a nut. Got it all sealed up perfectly and reinstalled the temp sensor in a different location.

It was a lot of work and you really need the right tools, but it was well worth the effort in the end.
