After much deliberating, and the decision to keep the 330 s/c, I've just bought a Z4 Alpina Roadster S Lux - 2005 with 15,000 miles. Bought the car from Sytner's - they're sorting out a few things for me before I collect it next week. It's just been serviced, and the deal includes 4 new tyres. Other than a couple of stone chips, the car is immaculate.

Fantastic experience to drive - having recently tried a Z4M roadster, I couldn't honestly tell a lot of difference in terms of acceleration, although the Alpina runs out of revs well before the M car. What you particularly notice with both these cars is lack of weight - the Alpina weighs around 1,320kg which makes an enormous difference in how lively it feels compared to the 330, even with the supercharger. Sounds awesome, and has a lovely gearbox which I found easier to use than the Z4M. Steering wheel not as tactile - although criticed in the press the Z4M steering wheel is the best I've ever used.

I know that metallic black will be hard work, but it looks so good, especially with the red leather.

Fully specified as all these cars are - electric heated seats, DVD navigation, xenon headlights, electric hood with heated glass screen, bluetooth phone etc. In my opinion, these cars are fantastic value for money, costing little more than a 3.0 Z4. Quoted as 300 bhp, but I believe the 3.4 typically make 310-320bhp, and 266 ft/lb torque - so plenty of shove.

Can't wait to collect it early in January!

Will get some better pictures up soon.

Gary

The drivers seat does have a slight crease that you can see (it's really nothing), but it really is in good condition as it should be for age and mileage - not sure how red will wear compared to black long term, but I preferred the look of the red interior.

As for the orange lights, all Alpina roadsters were like that - and I don't think I would change them - not sure it's the sort of car that you modify (famous last words!)

Beautiful car. I would be cancelling out the orange indicators though;)

Car will be a little skitish in the wet, you will just need to be carefull. When I first got the breadvan I accidentally got it going sideways coming off a slip road and on to a motorway.:o Over 300 BHP and no traction control is what I was blaming it on.;) :)

Thats well nice mate. Nothing wrong with going for something a bit more unique. Think you may eat your words on the modding thing though :)

Beautiful car - congrats

And there's no probs modding as long as you keep the original bits come resale time :)
