This was a very tight fit and took a while to get on. Maybe because the design wasn't changed for the facelift coupes.
I must say, I do feel the difference. Went out last night to pick up some stuff and the car was bloody quick from 50-100. Smoked some Vectra sri like it was standing still.
Downside is the noise is not as good compared to the standard kit. I kid you not. The lovely warble I used to get when giving it some throttle has gone. There is noise from the CAI (wheezing) and a muted V8 grumble.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Do the pre-facelift coupes have the cold air feed from the brake duct (going up into the engine compartment) like the M3? As my car doesn't :(
Still undecided if I'll keep it as the wife doesn't like the wheezing.

Which CAI?
You will get the 'wheezing' although less with the GruppeM design. But the noise to savour is when you snap open the throttle hard :D ...not good for the fuel consumption but that's how they please.
Wheezing happens because you suck in air through the open vents between the bonnet and the chassis. Unlike the standard airbox the air comes from only the ducts.
Oh, tell wife she'll get used to it ;), and expose her more to other mods ......after all this time, mine couldn't care what else I do to my car, totally given up. It's called systematic desensitisation :D

The gruppeM rep. I think I have snapped open the throttle and have been pushing it into the floor :D I knew it would wheeze but I'm dissapointed with the growl. Did your 330 have the air feed from the brake duct?

No cold air feed from brake duct on 330s. Only M3. But the GruppeM is designed to extract air from various slots, and through R&D they have concluded that the design is just as effective.
Functionality explained here (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=24845&highlight=gruppem+works)

One thing to remember is the sound in the cabin is different to the external sound. So much sound deadening in the coop.
Get yer missus to nail in in second whilst your standing at the side of the road, then you'll hear the roar!

I fitted the gruppe m replica kit on my E45 325 and I personally wasnt impressed. I liked the sound of the engine better before! I know this sounds stupid but the CAI kit made it sounds muted, like it should be making more induction noise than it was-just for experiment (and I know your not supposed to because of the heat from the engine) I bolted on a k&n cone filter and took it for a rip down the road and I though the sound was much better, much more raspy sounding and a much more noticable difference-ive ordered some aircharger kit from the states which i should get soon so ill let you know how I get on with that because I think its going to be pretty good

i have fitted the Gruppe M replica kit about 2-3 weeks ago and I have got to say it is an excellent mod!
Best part is when you are driving slow and within the lower rev range there is no unnecessary noise and is just as quite, but when you boot it the noise is something else!
Car feels quite a bit more responsive and generally better to drive.

Wheezing noises have reduced over the w/end. Noise from inside the cabin is still a bit muted to standard. Probably keep it on and try and get more air feeding it. The difference when cold is big, but bloody hell the mpg drops!
Time for a remap :D
