hi everyone. im just wondering whats the best thing i can do with my T reg 1.9 316i compact to make it fast.... i know air flow systems and exhaust systems but what else can i do to give it that extra poke? or would an engine swap be a better idea?

this is what it is at the moment?

# 77 kW (103 hp) and 165 N·m (122 ft·lbf)

* 1999-2000 E36 316i compact

can anyone give me some ideas of what to do and who to talk too about buying/fitting?

sit tight and wait for the "buy a better car" comments :)

For extra poke, you can go a little way with exhaust, intake and remake, but for a real kick in the back, speak to Roy about turbo or supercharging. It's all based on how much you want to spend though

Big bore throtle body, remap, induction and exhaust would be the cheapest things to do.

Other things include bigger injectors, supercharging and turbo.

Best would be to save up and buy a bigger engined car when you can afford it

I would just concentrate on making it SOUND like you've got more power :) fit a induction kit and just change the back box.

ditto Fas's comments:)

- Lose weight (wheels, body fat, seats)
- Remap
- Cam
- Go faster stripes
- Forced induction
- Buy faster car

well i have a 318i which i have moded nearly as much as i can without forced induction, the mods are-
straight through exhaust
carbon induction kit(CAI)
remap
big bore throttle boddy
magnecore leads
and suspension mods and de weight as much as possible.
i can out run my mates 320i.
i am going to get some light weight pully's soon.
hope this helps.

www.ca-at.co.uk that really is all you need to know :)

I know Roy has shut down now until the new year, so spend time browsing this website and his website and bombard him with questions in the new year
