So at 9:15 yesterday morning it was my wife who picked up her new X3 2.0d SE. A very nice car that is hugely practical for us as a family, IMHO has handsome looks and is a car I have been genuinely looking forward to getting. It is silver grey with anthracite cloth, very important as she is a veggie. Has a manual box, very important as we both prefer a manual car and so far she is thoroughly enjoying the whole SAV thing.
Here it is at the dealers as we are about to drive off. The gent in the suit is Tim, our salesman. He has supplied me around 5 or 6 cars now and has become a friend as much as a BMW salesman.

Just 11 miles on the clock

And then at 11:30 it was my turn. I found this a much less personal experiance than when we got Kerrys car (different dealer). Maybe it is because we have known Tim since he supplied my first BMW back in 1999 but I just didn't feel that they gave me any time or indeed cared about me buying the car from them. Nevermind, the car is awesome, feels brand new and goes like a train :D .
Here she is waiting for me.

And here they are, both together at their new home. The boxes in front of the M3 contained a few mods that went on immediately, set of projector indicators, colour coded grills and the CSL diffuser.

And a shot of the M3 at the maidstone meet wearing its freshly painted grills and projectors. Need to fit the hamann air duct things and then get it lowered, fit the BBK and also the ACS exhaust ;) .

The X3 is now tucked away in its garage and I 'may' get my first drive but I daresay that my wife won't be giving the keys up just yet :p .
