Once i've got my pulleys and intake fitted i'm gonna get the car chipped. Can anyone recommend a good chip to use and where i could get it fitted, bearing in mind i'm in the north west and don't want to have to travel to far.
The ones i've considered so far are the superchip which i can get fitted locally for just under £300 or chipped uk (Birmingham) who say they can fit one for £150. The info chipped Uk gave me was :
Around a 16hp gain in power and 14lbft.
The flat spots at 2100 and 4000rpm will be removed and you will get 2mpg better fuel consumption.
The car will pull harder throughout the gearing and rev smoother.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If you don't want to travel too far, try AMD (http://www.auto-amd.com/)
Superchip is too generic. More like a supermarket car chip from ASDA.
ChippedUK, I have no experience with his chips. Might be good, might be bad. However, I will not give him anymore business, nor would I recommend him. Took my things, failed to pay; took my money and failed to deliver.

My car is finally going into AMD on Monday 16th, for remap and Milltek exhaust, basically AMD are at the high end of the tuning market, you will get 20bhp from a remap on 330i and they carryout the remap on their dyno and you get before and after plots to prove that they have done what they claim.
The main difference is you get what you pay for, I have had many re-chips, remaps over the years, and IMHO I would only go for Dyno remap beacuse all the rest are just "talk" theres no validation to drive away with, sorry it's not my intention to offend anyone offering remaps or chips, you pays your money and makes your choice.
Heres the down side £ 500.00 + vat , but you will get exactly what you pay for and they go into press quoting their figures on their site :)
I will willing PM you the dyno plots next week and you can make a considered decision, regarding A.N other companies who have been mentioned take the advice given in a previous post because it certainly falls in line with all that I have heard and read on other forums.

Thanks to everyone for all the info. It does seem that as with everything else 'you get what you pay for'. I had a quick look at the AMD website, didn't notice where they were based but i'll probably go to them now after all thats been said.
'Lucky Bob' if you could PM me your dyno results when you have them i'd appreciate it.

I can vouch for AMD's top workmanship. My last car had most of its work done there. And i had nothing but praise for these guys.
Although they have took a bit of a bashing lately with people leaving the company, bad customer service etc, but it will prob all blow over.
There rr facility is very impressive in a sealed room.
My old car on AMD rollers.

Was a Zafira GSI people carrier. lmao.
2ltr with hybrid turbo plus load of other parts.Final power runs where 290+bhp and 300+lbft. She was about to explode though. But the AMD map was faultless, so smooth compared to other tuners.
Famous dude? am i :)
