i got caught with mobile today (not hands free) by the pigs! problem is that its 3 points and a £60 point fine. the female officer was trying to convince me that contesting the fine isnt a good idea as you may get more of a fine if found guilty.
so, i think they havent got any video evidence to prove this and i could get away with it, what do you think?
the officer took both parts of my licence, so would this be sufficient proof that i was in fact on the blower when driving?!
thanks
Take the points, learn the lesson and buy a hands free kit

sorry but, LOL :D You fucked up and now you want to get away with it? Go you. And show a bit of respect to the law, pigs? You were raised in a barn?
Shoe on other foot. Some guy on a mobile, runs your mum over. There's no video evidence. You'll be ok with him getting away with it? Didn't think so. Suck it up and learn your lesson. With car kits being sold for £40 there should be no reason to get caught on something so elementary

The nice magistrates at the courts are more likely to believe an officer of the law than a little scrotum in a beemer ;)

Doubt you will get away with it 2 people in the car?. and to be fair mate your in a car to drive. mobile phones all come with a free wire hands free doesn' take much to use it.
my mates are all police officers and knowing what they go through and the things they see means "pigs" is not something i would call them, putting their lives on the line everyday. and yes they do have better things to do but they get diverted by people that are blatantly flouting the law.
i also got knocked off my motorbike and hurt because the women was on the phone. so sorry no personal offence to you but everything has consequence.:(

using a phone while driving is v serious.
I had a lot of close calls on my motorbike when car drivers were concentrating on holding their phone...

There is no point in trying to dodge it, the law can have your incoming/outcoming calls monitored at the time of the incident - so it really is a lost cause.
In the whole scheme of things you have got away very lightly! You should be greatful.....

It is! He was parking up outside his flat and this copper followed him and waited. The copper had it in for him, she was always around the uni area and has followed him a few times.
It happened when the law was 1st introduced so that could have something to do with it

From an ex copper, thanks :)
Have nothing to add except that whoever gave out that ticket for taking off their bluetooth device, sounds harsh. I wouldnt have done so myself, nor would the majority of my colleagues.
Unlucky I guess

We told him to contest it but it he didn't want to risk it and making it worse for himself.
The law was just introduced and he thought he would have no chance

Its nice to hear people giving the police support once in a while, Certainly makes a change :) (although I know sometimes ( but not in this case) rants against the police are certainly justified)
Gaz, what baffles me is that, you knew it was a 60 pound fine and 3 points,
so if you didnt want to risk the fine and the points, why did you do it in the first place?
Jordan I agree with the principal but that doesnt always hold true.
The best 2 examples I can think of:
I can get 3 points for holding an apple
Doing 56 on the Heathrow section of the M25 at 4 in the morning when theres no other cars on the road will get me banned within about 1 mile of driving.
Some rules are just ridiculous and stupid. Now I actually completely completely agree about phones in the car but you can't blanketly say that if its a rule, your stupid to break it. We don't live in Nazi Germany?

?? You've lost me somewhere
What I am saying is simple, he knew the consequences, he still did it and got caught then complained, ie if he didnt want to risk the points in the first place, why do it. No big deal tho not the end of the world
What r u on about talking about Nazis and apples etc

WTF  If you are talking about doing 56 on the M25 when the speed restrictions are showing 50 then you deserve to get points/ban same as using the phone, both instances are breaking the law ;) .

Gaz its been headline news for ages, walk into any Halfrauds and the signs are up telling you the penalty if you get caught, and in actual fact I think they could impound your car if they decided to be really shitty about it so consider the fine and the points a lesson learned ;)
