I am thinking of getting some new rims, and was wondering if 18x9j will fit or will it be too wide?

I have 245/17 on 17x8.5j at the mo. not much room there at all!

Also what size tyres would I be best on my 328i - remembering I have an e36 NOT a wide ass e46! :D

cheers guys!

What does the M3 run? Im sure with the right offset a 9j rim would fit with a 265 tyre?

the e36 M3 has a 17x8.5j iirc, same size as mine at the moment.

i don't think i'll 265 on for sure! :(

Alpina supply 9x17 rims for the E36 so with the correct offset this should be possible.

thats right with the correct offset you can fit a 275 on a 17" rim i have seen a 318is with a orignal set of alpina rims running this tyre size on the rear!

really?
i think the offset is 38 - would that work, i don't need to go silly wide!

From the little knowledge I have on wheels and fitments, with that offset the wheels will be as far out from the hub as possible (on an E36/E46 fitment) which with Wide-ass tyres I am guessing you will probably need your arches rolled.

the offset is 38, so will this work with 9j?

i was thinking maybe 245 tyres, so as not to go too wide?
