Why are you worrying go to the dealer it wont cost you nothing you have WARRANTY, just go explain it to them not worth trying to sort it yourself bro!!!
HTH even though i just stated the obvious

That can't be oem then - surely that's an aftermarket kit? I mean, fair play if it works, but an oem install would have working buttons and lights on the console - sounds to me like somebody tried a retrofit and then gave up in favour of an aftermarket kit. (Thus, don't ask them to look at it under warranty if it goes wrong, cos they may get funny about it :p)

I was gonna do the retrofit job on this, brought all the stuff for it, plugged the centre console bit in, all the lights lit up fine on the heated seat buttons but the traction control button never worked for some reason.

100% aftermarket. Don't think there's a need to make a fuss, but I'd clarify with them that they're happy to not be pricks about anything if you have a warranty claim later on with the seat leathers or whatever - on the basis that they supplied the car as it is. If they say they want to take it off, tell them you bought a car with heated seats so they'll have to make the oem ones good. ;)
