Uprated discs and pads, advice wanted

Hello everyone.

My discs and pads are now in need of replacing on my 325 E46. Just wondered if anyone else had uprated to grooved or cross drilled discs or uprated pads and if so was there a big gain in braking performnace??

Also if anyone has any pictures that would be grate as im trying to decide whther I think they look to boy racerish or not??

Ive got a 325 so i think its the same brakes on the 323 and 328 so any pictures of these cars would be great

Hi there [hiya I got some Brembo Max, standard pads (ATE) and Goodridge hoses and I think the hoses make a noticeable difference. For looks, I would have gone for cross drilled Zimmermanns, but I wanted something different and the 'brand' lured me into the purchase.

I'm sure our in-house gurus will chime in soon with all possible options to corrupt your mind.

u upgreded my 330 ones with tarox discs and fast road pads.. the difference was very notacible and no more fading.

Zimmermann has always been popular with owners. They are priced very competitively and work well.

Unless you upgrade to steel braided hose, just changing to X-Drilled discs you will not feel any major braking improvement. Pads, I like Pagid fast road pads for stock brakes. But with the braided hose, you feel the difference the most.

I've tried a number of different combinations of discs/pads on different cars I have had. Zimmermann are good, Tarox G88 are excellent. I am currently running Black Diamond X-drilled and they are a very good disc but are a little pricey. As for pads, PAGID FAST ROADERS all the way :D .

yeah dito the above pagid fast road pads and drilled sics but as nick pointed out braided hoses are also a must :-) chang eth ebrake fluid while your at it dude

i think my lot came to £500isg, tarox g88 discs , pagid fast road pads and hoses (cant remember who made by)
but the improvement was amazing compared to standard.
do itif u like driving fast ;)
