Need advice,

I'm looking @ extended warranty for my 2.5 yr old car with 32k on it & I'm currently doing 20k per annum and plan to keep it for a while.
Should I get this, if so who's - is BMW's best, does the price vary etc?

Any experts out there who have checked this out before, I did a thread search but could find nothing

[hmm

The BMW warranty is one of the best on the market, and although quite pricey will keep the value of your car, includes roadside and home breakdown assistance, MOT insurance and pretty much everything, even the battery. And I've never had any problems with mods when taking it to the delaer, although they probably won't cover something that fails due to a mod - ie suspension arm fails and you've changed the springs.

I can't see how you will recover your money from the warranty. But I could be wrong, Luck will probably play a massive part in this.

My warranty runs out in August and I am not going to renew it because simply for the price of the warranty which I was quoted if I remember correctly somewhere near £600 - £700 per annum, if anything goes wrong with the car out of warranty it is unlikely to cost any more than that.

Could I have just jinxed myself?! [hmm

The way I see it, if something goes wrong, replace it with aftermarket options. That way you spend your money but get the satisfaction too.

330 is a virtually bombproof car. Durgesh's ASA 330 pumps out 350 BHP and the engine took every single punch that was thrown at it. OK he had a prop shaft replaced but that's not an expensive part to replace. But the most expensive part, the engine is holding up very well. If a spring breaks or shocks wear out prematurely, I would just go for aftermarket performance parts as replacement.

With an M3, it's a different story. You hear engines blowing up even when they are stock; plus the recall work that runs into the thousands of pounds to put right. So warranty makes a difference on such a car.
