Hi all, i dont know if this question has been answered before, but using BP 102 on a E46 M3 - 1. Would it harm the engine and 2. Would i notice alot of difference?

does make a difference after time, shell optimax v power is the best IMO.
I paid fucking £1.07.9 per litre last night, shame the prices have rocketed up :(

thorney done a test........ shell vpower vs tesco 99 RON vs BP 102. The BP and Tesco performed near enough the same, a noticeable better than the vpower (dyno test).
They then added that the 102 didnt performe consistantly good compared to the tesco 99ron.

Would i be right in saying that im better off using Shell or Tesco, and not to waste my money on BP?

Yes - i wouldnt bother with 102 octane, its not exactley race fuel and youre just better off with normal tesco 99 and v poo-wer IMO.

v - power is the way forward!
Anyone use BP Ultimate over V-Power?
I use Ultimate diesel in the Golf and I used to use it in the 530d. However since getting the 330 I went straight for V-Power. Is Ultimate worth a try?

LOL...not this again
.. personally I find that Shell Optimax makes my car idle too low so I occasionally stall it BUT I get better MPG :D . BP Ultimate makes my car idle more freely but MPG is down.
Tesco's ...you serious  , you can't drive an M3 into a TESCO's petrol station..lol :D ..Morrisons is better :o

102 only makes difference if the car is mapped for it, same as the other petrols.
the best petrol is Shell V power for german /italian cars , jap cars prefer BP.
Go to Tescos if you like the risk of contamination.

actually its made by the same folks that make their value cola ;)
Nah seriously, cslboy has hit the nail on the head, its only really worth it, if your cars mapped for it. m3's etc run alot better on the good stuff 98ron... over the horrible 95ron.. but over 100ron a dedicated ecu map would be alot more beneficial. Most good ecu's have multiple ecu maps that can be used dependant on situations..

my views on fuel,
Shell V-power- Definitely makes the car faster over standard. however find the car more top endy if tht makes sense. poor fuel economy. (regular users get the Shell Citicard)
BP Ultimate- Faster than standard if not as much as Shell V power or Tesco99. Best fuel economy of any fuel i find.
Tesco99- combo of the above, halfway house between the two. benefit is its a lot cheaper especially with the 5p off vouchers.
