Getting Sarahs one series delivered in Sep ( if shes a good girl lol)
Took one out for a test drive yesterday, all i can say is wow. Spec was a 120d sport and the handling is amazing. I know theres only 100kg difference between mine and a 1er but its soooo much more nimble round the twisties. Looks like ill need more mods to keep her behind :D. Engine is a work of art for a TD, quiet with no VW frugal tractor sounds at idle, and the thing just pulls and pulls. Constant power between 2-4.5k rpm.
Car will be delivered already on eibachs with 19" iforge Retro's with black centres as picked out by Sarah.
Ive just one question on the spec though, is the satnav really worth the 2k asking price? [hmm

Depending on what you want. It's functional and neat but £2k is a lot of money for what it is. But then again, nearly all factory navs cost that much. More desirable when it comes to selling next time, you won;t get your money back but it'll definitely make the car sell faster for the asking price.
For £2k you can get a top aftermarket kit. But it will not look as neat. Also, you may entice thieves to peep into your car cabin and think of ways to nick it.
My opinion, I would go aftermarket (after my recent ICE experience, you can do so much more for a ot less money) and tint the s*** out of your side windows :D
Wow, that 1 series is gonna look pretty pimp!
Those rims sound mean :D Id be counting away the days :D

Mate, get factory Navi. It is waaaaay toooo much agro getting the retro done.
You are constantly worried that it is going to get stolen as well.
Just pop in a Dension if you need Mp3.
nice colour combo mate... yep I'd agree get the factory satnav, the newer versions are alot better now, check it out fully at the dealer, if your unsure, possibly spec it without the tv tuner, (can always add it later), this should bring the price down abit.. TV will be locked anyhow, so it won't work on the move.. which is good thing, should be concentrating on the road rather than watching eastenders ;) just kidding :D

Be careful of the keyboard Nick ;)
But that combi - Alpine White and Black Iforged rims [bow.
Stilll thinking about the combi :D , forgot to say, Lee, deffo go with OE mate if you are gonna do it. Will look alot better than a retro fit. Alot sleeker, better resale after, and you can get around the TV not working on the move ;) .

Think i might go with the OE sat nav then, can it be easily modded to be able to watch it on the move?

Lee,
The 1 series sat nav is fitted in such a way that it requires a totally different dash. The monitor flips up out of the dash when needed. However, it flips back down again so thieves will not know it is there at all!
Secondly, you can't retro fit and OEM one after without a lot of expense as the whole dash needs to be changed. Its cheaper to get it now IMO.
I'm looking at getting a car of my own near the end of the year and the 130i is a contender. I would definately get sat-nav with any 1 series. Get the professional mate if you can.
