Hi Guys,

I've slowly been trying to plan my ICE upgrade and have been looking at getting some 6.5" speakers in the front and the same in the rear with a single sub in a custom box facing out of the skypass.

The kit I'm thinking of getting is 2 pairs of Focal 165V2 (front and rear) & a single Focal 27-V2 Sub.

The part I'm never sure about is which suitable amps I should get to power these, I would like a half decent make (e.g Alpine etc) but I'm also on a budget so i think JL Audio and the likes are out.....any ideas on suitable amps or what power ratings I'll need.

Also have been looking at doorboards (http://www.jehnert.de/e-doorboardsbmw1.htm) and placing the two pairs in these instead of front and rear, anyone looked into these? is this a better solution?

100% better than just replacing the factory spks.
the jehnert sound systems are specifically tuned and designed for the car and come with hand made crossovers for superior sound ans stage in the front.
my advice, the set of door builds and a clean 300 watt rms amp to run them. you will not be dissapointed!!!
