I am thinking of of trading in my 330ci for the same car with lesser mileage and a SK+ system fitted. Its an auto and currently running 4.5psi.
Question, Is it easy to increase this without breaking the bank e.g changing pulleys, bigger injectors. Any ideas??? Also is it worth fitting power pulleys whilst upgrading SC pulleys. Futhermore, are there any other mods I should also consider? I looking to to get about 330 bhp
p.s. I have a set of brembos from the old car to upgrade onto the new one if I change it.
Thanks in advance

Its best advised to leave the power on an Auto at below the 285bhp mark as i dont think people are too sure about the power it can take, hence its at the 4.5psi mark. Im sure it could take more but then reliability comes to play.
You can only fit one of the pulleys as the additional pullies on the Sk+ means theres no room for both power pullies.

I'v got a charger on my 330, and i'v been toying with the idea of fitting bigger injectors, lighter pulleys, e.c.t. Kinda wanting to up the power a bit more, not that the car is a slouch as it is! I'v thought a lot about this, as i'v thrown money at the 330 already and for the past god knows how many years, i'v thrown money at various other cars. I'v now made up my mind and the bottom line is.........by the time i'v spent out for bigger injectors, e.c.t. For the price i can go out and buy a E46 M3 now, i may as well do that. Now all i gotta do is try and sell the 330, wich aint gonna be easy, seen as its got a big charger bolted to it.

The problem is the auto box, their built for a certain amount of torque & if it senses more than that then it'll shut down. good new is though we can remap the autobox ecu & set the limit higher :)

Thanks for that. As anyone else experienced problems selling supercharged cars???? I suppose the beauty of this kit is its easy to put the car back to standard

From my experience, a problem; especially with newer cars. Return it to stock and the S/C kit sells very easily on it's own.

Depends if you price it realistically or over the top trying to recoup some of your money. One of the members on here, sold his charged 330 pretty quickly, but then he only asked for the same money as a standard one, it was a minter too!

Yeah and I bought it. Great car and has never missed a beat. The kit can be taken off without any issues. The nice thing is the car will not need to be remapped but could help increase the power and fuel/air levels.
I don't think your be getting 330bhp though, mine has an eisenman exhaust, DMS remap and the SK+ and I got 290bhp at surrey rolling road. The bonus is that servicing costs are cheaper and in my case insurance cheaper than an m3 (A-Plan)
Best to speak to CA, they also offer newer twin scroll SC which are meant to offer higher BHP.

330bhp Can be had using 6.5psi pullies with the relative injectors on the sk+. But like above i dont know how an auto would handle it, if its just a issue with software then im sure the hardware can handle it. If it was me id go for it. Pullies and injectors are relatively cheap.

About £400 for the pullies and injectors plus a custom map, probably about Just over £1k

Thanks. Food for thought but don't want to get to close to M3 money otherwise just defeats the purpose.

Bear in mind the M3 though lovely won't have the low down response of the SC'd car, you need to compare power graphs not just the headline figures.

True , 2 totally different drives, you'd need an ESS twinscrew though to get to M3 performance levels and above.

So if i was to change the pulleys and fit bigger injectors to mine, would it still be able to handle the power engine wise or will it be pushing it on the reliability front, baring in mind i don't use it as an every day car?

330bhp should be no problem, the SK kits and ESS run into the 370's without any problems, although they are intercooled. I only had a problem with mine as it was running upto 9psi and driven very hard for 25k miles probably 10k of those were track miles:D

hmmm, well I'm interested too in the pulleys and injectors. Lee did you do this mod? If so what parts did you use and can they be carried out DIY or by a garage?

Bigshout, maybe we can both get the bits from Roy at the same time and get a huge discount? lol. Be good to find out exactly how much the pulleys and injectors are going to be.

sure thing. I might have to start saving now as money is tight since going away to Oz.

From what i can remember, last time i spoke to roy about all this, it wasn't the injectors and pulleys that was big money, its the mapp you have to have. Don't quote me on this, but i'm sure he said due to the fact you are fitting bigger injectors and have the charger fitted, it would need an active remapp, ie, done with the bloke sitting in the car beside you with his laptop while you ragged it round brunty.

Count me in too. I spoken to Roy previously. The issue of remapping more related to Step's. When to get into anything around 340+ the auto software needs remapping. There are only a few people in the world who can do this 'live mapping' of the gearbox. I think he said he flies him over from somewhere in europe to do your car. This costs around £800 - £1000. I am only interested in changing the pullies and injectors. I'm happy running to 6.5psi and getting anything around 310bhp. My car is a daily driver and mileage is quite high. Please Roy can you give us of the price of the pulley and injectors

Yeah, im with you on that. 6.5 psi 310bhp would be good for me. Although i don't use my car from one week to the next, i don't want it to be to self distructing as mines reasonably high milage to.

Have contacted CA regarding the price of both. Also asked him if an intercooler can be added at a later date. Will come back to you

You cant fit an Intercooler to the Sk+. I believe Infinitas were supposed to be making an Aftercooler but wether they did or not i dont know.
I ran the 6.5psi pullies and injectors first. I get them from Samir (technik USA), at the time they were the only people offering the upgrade. Then i went to 9psi which made just over 310 rwhp. Looking back 9 psi was too much for the charger, althoug i always new that, just couldnt help myself:D
I map isnt a necessity at 6.5psi, i think you can use the ASAtronic to control the fuel.
