Had a great day yesterday, was bought a Drivers Dream day which turned out to be a Porsche Vs Ferrari Day:D , with choice of locations.

I opted to pick a track I knew fairly well (Bruntingthorpe:D )

Turned up to find all kinds of exotica incl:

1 x Bentley Continental GT
2 x Lamborghini Murcielago
1 x Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
3 x Aston Martin Vantage
2 x Ferrari F355
2 x Ferrari 360 Modena
2 x Porsche 911 Carrera 2
1 x Porsche 911 Turbo
1 x Ultima GTR

My slot was @ 15:15, so arrived handy, first off I had to register, I was then given my time slots for the drives.

First on the list was to have an induction drive, this consisted of a instructor taking us round the course detailing braking sections & acceleration sections.

This took all of 5 minutes, next on my schedule was to drive the Porsche, we had designated queues for each car, after waiting my turn I was directed to a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera, after getting in an setting up the seat etc I was told by the instructor that there was no limitations on speed and if spun that would singal the end of the drive:( , anyway off we shot pulling out of the pits, first lap was a bit scruffy with the instructor telling me to smooth out the bends & not to snatch gears.

Little to say but the 2nd & 3rd laps went a lot smoother, although they had cut down the long straight to half it's length I still managed a tidy 130 out of the porsche.

Back to base after 3rd & final lap, whilst waiting for the ferrari drive (which I was told was a F355) I sampled the refreshements.

At 16:30 the time came, i queued by the Ferrari stand and lo & behold I get directed to a 360 Modena (things looking better:D )

What can I say it had the flappy paddle gearbox and sounded awesome, again the instructor was great and had me tearing up the corners, managed to hit 155 down the big straight.

All in all a great day, they also were allowing friend & family to turn up and drive (towards the end they were doing 3 for 2 on the laps) £70 got you the Murcielago LP640 for 3 laps.

I have attached a few pics of me looking like the cat that got the cream.

Also they have another lined up on 3rd November..

Cheers

sounds like a good day, muchos fun :). I did a drivers dream day a few months ago, and it was for the 'fantastic four' or something. Went out in an elise, 360 modena, then 911 turbo. I wasnt massively impressed with the 360 to be honest, but i think its mainly because I went in the 911 turbo after which just blew everything else out of the water (I really have to own one of those some day...). then went in a single seater which i'd highly recommend if you go again!

I'd love to have a blast round Brunty, though donnington was a good circuit too.

So did you have some kind of in depth breifing before going out? they were behind schedule when i went and all I got was the instructer guy taking all of 10 seconds to point at the car, and mention something about blue cones.. Then I was bundled straight into the elise, then immediately into the other three in quick succession.

Hi lumus,
No real in depth training, only a guy driving us round the circuit and telling us what the cones meant & the rules.

There was a 911 Turbo there on the day but because some bint took an age to drive off I missed that and got the 911 Carrera, would have loved the 911 Turbo.

Hi yas,
Mine was bought from Drivers Dream Days (https://www.driversdreamdays.co.uk/Default.asp)

Must say it was really well organised, had go-karts available & food/toilets on hand.

Cheers
