Spent yesterday installing the silver carbon trim with Teddy (cheers Teddy).

We managed the do everything apart from the rear arm rests. Any advice on the best/easiest way to remove the rear door cards (on a convertible) to install the remaining two rear arm rest trims?

Thanks guys :)

Rear seats needs to come out in order to expose the screws holding the rear door cards in place

They are the bain of the whole install  ....rear seats to come off followed by the rear armrest cards. Taking them off is not a problem but putting them back in    ....it's almost impossible to align the clips properly due to very limited access to back of the cards. Go down to your BMW dealer and get yourself a bag of spare clips as you'll break a few forcing the cards back on.

Cheers guys, do you need to remove the rubber seals from the side of the doors aswell to gain access? Any difference in the install between coupe and convertible.

We noticed that on the original BMW arm rests, they have a plastic frame with clips on, to hold the leather part in place on the arm rests. As the replacement carbon fibre did not have this, we use extra strong industry strength double sided tape to hold it into position. Anyone use other means to do this?

You need to remove the weather stripping but it's not a major hassle.

I bought some extra strong velcro from Halfords to stick my rear leather arm rest pad down. Work wonders.

cheers Nick, a trip to Halfords for that velcro is required I think :)

Any major differences in removing the rear door car between coupe and convertible at all?
