come on... admit it!! it was you that ordered that M3!!! :D
I always thought the CS was for 'Coupe Sport' as it fell between the regular M3 and M3 CSL (Coupe Sport Lightweight) - am I incorrect then?
Oh and that the Clubsport was for, well, see the the sig.:D ;)
I think this is the one that was in the dealer Nick picked his m3 up from?

Not being funny, but give that exterior colour some blackout grills, black rims with orange matched bbk, and I am sure most of you will change your mind. I would have it no doubt.

The CSL is a stripped down lightweight version of the normal M3... although havn't got a clue where the CS fits in... When people on here have mentioned it I've always assumed they just missed out the L lol.

if I remember correctly the M3 CS has a diffrent steering rack , brakes , wheels to the standard M3 not sure what else ...
doesn't CSL stamd for Club Sport Lightweight?
CSL (Coupe Sport Leichtgemetal) according to Munich Legends site.:)

CS has the same steering rack, brakes and rear wheel as the CSL. From wheel is 0.5 narrower. CS has the M track mode as well and the alcantara steering wheel. That is the only difference from a regular M3 from what I can remember.

Can't imagine why they would not be the same, CSL rims are only cast anyway. Would cost them more to produce different rims I would have thought.
the first pics dont do it Justice when nice first posted his pics it thought that car looked awesome

I agree. That car caught my attention before anything else, even before the E92 M3 I was going to test drive which was parked right in front of it. A real head turner. Whether the wow factor will last or not I'm not sure, but it was certainly striking.

Others have already answered, but it is the norm (in the car industry) for the CS part to stand for Club Sport (eg 968 club sport, 330 club sport). With the M3 CSL, BM took it a stage further and properly went to town hence the addition of the L at the end (Lightweight). They then decided to make a CS version using some of the good bits from the CSL (steering rack, etc).

Same design with one tiny change, otherwise very similar (but not the same). And they're a forged-alloy wheel that go through a casting process, so a bit of both on that one.

I saw that car in the flesh...its pretty nice, i like it.
and like phat//M3 said...black grills and bits would make it even hotter.

There is no tiny change, they have the same part number for the rears. As said earlier the CS fronts are .5 inch narrower so are actually lighter than the CSL wheels.

Wrong.
They changed the design of the tyre valve to a shallower angle so that it didn't flick in and chip the rim. CSL rims are also like 30-40g lighter or something minimal. They do not have the same part numbers (82660 for CSL, 82999 for CS).
Moving on...

Last time I bought some for my CSL the rear CSL part number had been dropped and replaced by the CS part, if they've subsequently decided to remake a seperate CSL part again then I'd be suprised.
