Yes, but tesco price locally against competition so the price will vary different regions ! :p

Ed... You called me yesterday about this.. so I drove well out the way today.. to get some of this stuff, as the SC would get high on the stuff.

Only to find my Tesco (Brent X) does not have it yet.... :(

If anyone find a North London one with it, please post details...

Might have to come down to you this weekend Ed, so we can try it out.

my local tesco don't have it either...quite strange as no other major petrol companies has brought 99ron yet...? And no news on TV or radio either?

Apparently they are testing it in the south, and if things work out then all the LRP pumps will go and be replaced by 99ron

Yes its true, another Tesco first, we are trialling a 99 octane super
unleaded petrol grade in 12 sites around the South East of England.

This will be competitvely priced compared to our Oil Company competitors and will be subject to our usual price check so as to ensure we match the lowest price locally for this grade.

It will be labelled as 99 octane and we will therefore always ensure it meets this octane level as a minimum.

Roll out to further stores ( in the S.E. area only) depends are how customers respond - so come on down.

Finally managed to grab myself a tankfull today @ 88.9p per Ltr. :D First impressions are good, car is now more responsive, feels like I using less throttle @ motorway speeds.
Probably need to do a couple of tankfulls to check the consumption after the car has settled down

But I thought Optimax was 99, or is it 98, it's more than super unleaded anyway. 88.9p sounds good tho cos I pay 90.9 for Optimax.

at 85.9p...same price as normal unleaded!! Check da OBC...350miles on 1 tank!!!..i can get only 300miles. wit optimax..and mines 325 auto.... I just luv da price...and get more miles..

Goin 2 trying test drive frds Skyline R32 wit dis stuff....cant wait!! :D :D :D

Tesco's Slough now has this, I filled up yesterday. 91.9 p/litre, but that is still less than Optimax.

Before everyone decides to change to Tesco's (headline grabbing) 99, remember that Octane isn't the only ingredient that should be looked at. Lubricity and detergent are two very important factors. Shell Optimax (all Shell fuel in fact) has them in abundance.

Standard Tesco unleaded doesn't and gums up the fuel system.

If the new 99 does, then great. If it doesn't I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Not really on the topic of locations but would the car actually benefit from using a higher grade of petrol.

Currently using cheapest fuel, my car is a 318i 8v!!!
Needing more speed....

What is the best value for money.
