Someone on bm3w.co.uk has done it. But I think the function is available only on post 2004 cars. You need to lock the car and the mirrors automatically fold up. But I'm not sure about the exact details.
Not sure bro, but if you ind out I would certainly be interested in knowing. I have thought about this - when you arm/disarm the alarm.

I've been trying to find out how to do this for ages. Found a place that will do it for a minimum of £150, but there must be a cheaper way!

I know quite a few E36 owners have done it but they all use aftermarket alarms. Perhaps it's something which can be done much easily with an aftermarket alarm?
there's a couple of guys on the m5board who have done this, involves adding a new wire/resistor to existing alarm loom... trouble is, it can "wear" down the motors in the wing mirrors, which can lead to failure.
If you press the button to fold the mirrors up/down 4-5times, it stops working, as the motors generally start to overheat, this is a safety clause, bmw put in. give it 5 mins, and they start working again ;)
i agree is a nice feature, but don't think its worth the extra ho-ha imo. :)
