This was something i've wanted to do for a while, ever since I first saw the E46 M3 SMG interior it just seemed a shame that BMW stuck such an awkward looking gearknob there. Even worse was the fact that they made it from chromed plastic - not exactly the most exotic of materials :(

Anyway, my chance came a couple of months back when an EvoTechnik member was generous enough to lend me his SMG gearknob to allow me to design something more elegant - more fitting for an E46 M3. I used the standard gearknob to give me a dimensional envelope for my design so that I could keep to the same proportions - thus retaining that SMG "stub" look.

So, after a few iterations, I came to this final design. Machined from stainless steel with simple and elegant lines and with the shift pattern engraved into it, this is a much more fitting gearknob for the BMW.

I also have some without the SMG gear pattern engraved into the top for people who like the design but dont have the SMG. (Same fitment).

Available in brushed stainless or Dark Titanium plated finish.

They look stunning Bilal, quality looks amazing. Is there any way I can order an engraved brushed stainless one but with the engraved "circle" bit at the top in dark Titanium ? Sorry to be a pain but I think this would look more OEM. :o

During the Titanium plating process - the whole item has to be done. Its not possible to "mask" off an area. Perhaps I could try and remove some after the plating but this wont be easy as the Titanium is very hard.
