I installed the BBK on my car yesterday. All easy stuff and they seem very good, not sure if the disks are 100% though as there is a vibration when braking from high speeds. If it is pad transfer from the previous owner :p then hopefully it will clear up over the next couple of weeks ;) . Normal driving and there feels no difference between these and OEM but stamp onthe brakes from a highish speed and it really does slow down quite hard.

Look great mate, as said the only time you notice it in normal driving is when braking hard from very high speed.

Great mod Paul, no going back now as you will really notice the difference when they are bedded in :D
Looking @ the pic the pad wear on the disks does not look even yet, so may need more work to bed them in properly ?

Nice one Paul

They do look good behind those M6 wheels. The discs are full of pad deposit, a few natural braking sessions should solve it.

Wait till they are hot, the StopTech bites like no others. What pads are you using?

Not sure Nick but I believe they are pagid blues or something like that. Roy could confirm as they are off the banana. The pad backing plates are blue anyway :p .

Don't understand why people are saying that they feel like OEM under normal driving. Are people using hard-compound pads or something? There should be a marked difference between stock and a BBK..

The braking forces at normal pedal pressure and and speeds seem very OEM like but if you apply heavier pressure or are stopping from a higher speed then there is a big difference - well, that is how it feels with mine. The pedal pressure is more consistent though and I guess the SS lines help out here as well. I like it like this. i would hate a brake setup that is very binary, thwe progessive nature that these stoptechs seems to have is very nice. I have only driven Nicks old M3 and Roys M3 with BBKs so really have no other reference other than the 60 miles i have done so far, most of it on the motorway. Tomorrow i will give it the full beans on some of kents finest lanes ;) .

..but if you apply heavier pressure
That's what I was getting at. Doing just the front BBK will make them milder as well, but you should still have that extra power under the pedal when you push it harder, not like oem where you get what you're given and no more.

Awesome mate...

I nearly put a BBK on my M3, but sold it just before, so will be very keen to see/feel the improvement in braking in yours when we get back to the ring... esp now as the D's brakes are still f**ked since our last lap together ... :D

Thanks George and cheers for the help with the spacers. Spoke to Mark for a while and in the end he asked me to let him know if/when I sell the car :p . Its quite easy to brain wash people into M ownership!!

Had a very funny evening. Been out for a meal and got a bit pissed. My wife Kerry drove hiome and i almost head-butted the dash a few times. She got used to the brakes after 15 miles or so but there was stilll the odd hiccup :p .

Saw your car the other week, looked good. You were coming through Maidstone on the road from Pembury.

I was piloting a 10bph Yamaha YB125 on my CBT...
