View Full Version : Broken mirror :(
Some ass wipe has kicked off and broke one of the M5 mirrors that I got from Alex last week
I think it may be fixable. Can anybody recommend some super strong glue that may do the trick??

Araldite may be a good option but you have to let it cure for a good few hours. Its an epoxy resin so is pretty tough.

Aralite is top. i was suprised how strong it was when some kicked off the mirror off my dads merc
Cheers for the recommendation guys. I'll go get some and see if it does the trick. Do you reckon this is fixable (apologies for the poor quality)?

That happened to my M5, I just bought a new mirror. I did not want to imagine the damage I would cause when it flew off my car at 100mph and hit someone behind me. I suggest you do the same.

Amazing isn't it all the time you had standard mirrors no-one touched them,as soon as you got M5 ones the jealous bastards do that  ,I feel for you mate.Like Kin Mak said if it did fly off later it could damage your car as well as someone elses, maybe glue it for now and keep your eyes open for another one.
PM has already been sent to Teddy to see if he can supply new internals. If not I'll probably just put the old ones back on and be done with it.

Dont be so defeatist, just look around if Teddy cant help you,you know you dont want elephant ears again ;)
OK I'll just wait till you part out your car then. Can you paint them before you send them to me? There's a good boy ;)

LOL,I suppose you want me to let you have them free along with the BBK's
Man it's almost like you read my mind :D
To be honest I'd probably feel a bit guilty if I took them for free. How about I at least buy you a drink? Cheers man, you're great!
Who knows I might just keep the one side M5, one side standard look. It's almost like having 2 cars.

After all you went through trying to get them on :p
Where did you leave your car when it happened?
As said get them fixed they look sooo much better :D
Yes Rich all that effort with getting them fitted whilst it pissed with rain last week and they lasted all of 7 days and a few hours!
The car was parked down at the harbour ;)
It was there for maybe 30 mins as I was meeting some friends on a stag night (no idea why they were down there!). It was witnessed by one of the guys in the flats above and they pointed out the boy that did it. On questioning the chap was quite honest and proud that he managed to do it so the boys I was with just told me to move the car and whilst I drove off they got kind of "handy" with said guy and his friends!
I off course do not condone such behaviour but as I had nothing to do with the brawl I went to church today without any remorse :D

hi Gee sorry to hear that are those genuine M5 mirrors? whether they are our rep or genuine bmw M5 mirrors that broken piece is called 'stopper' plate and is there to stop the mirror housing to a specific position when it's up or down.
If they are genuine BMW mirrors dealer should be able to sort you out a new plate. if they are our reps I think I have some spare plates here.
