Hi guys,
I was directed here from another bmw forum from 'nickleback' (username), drives 330i clubsport in estoril blue.
Anyway nice to find a forum with like minded people who love modding there bm's!
Firstly i want cold air induction on my car and the main suspects are pipercross viper kit, BMC cold air induction carbon fibre kit or the gruppe m replica, all are in the £200 / £300 price range which is good i'm just torn on what to go for! I'm looking for improved sound over performance, even though a bit more torque and a few horses would be good! I'm leaning towards gruppe m replica from ssdd-motor'.
Help me out guys, what shall i get? views AND pics would be greatful!
Secondly i live on the isle of wight and want to set up a meet for modified bmw's but dont know where to start! there are some nice bm's here its just getting them together! I would come to mainland meets but then have to spend anything between £45 and £90 to get across the water depending on day and time of year!
Anyway sorry to go on but any feedback would be great!
And by the way me and the girlfriend done a road trip in her 330i clubsport around france into monaco and through the alps a couple of months back, bloody amazing want to do it again at the end of the year! more the merrier! just a thought. got it on camcorder but not put it on laptop yet.
Anyway going now,
Car is E46, 328i, V reg (2000).
Thankyou
Nickleback

Hello....Shawny? ;)
Welcome m8 [hiya
If you're after an aggressive noise, the GruppeM gives the best induction roar. However, you can get the same effect but nearly £200 less by going for the GruppeM replica that Teddy sells. Same design, same material. OK the filter is not an original K&N version but it's still more than capable.
Listen to this and tell me you're not sold (http://personal.inet.fi/private/antinontoxic/GruppeM_325ci.avi) (RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE)
Also, all you need to know about how a GruppeM work here (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=24845&highlight=gruppem+video)
Get your m8s and others on here. Once you get a gang talking about cars, you'll end up with a team :D

Sounds bloody nice mate! i'm impressed! As it stands i'm 70% leaning towards gruppe m and 30% for the other two, so unless anybody comes up with an arguement for the others i'll be ordering in a couple of days!
How do you know its me?
Sorry what car was that on?
I'll try and get more people on this site just gotta get chatting to them!
Thanks

Welcome bro [hiya I personally don't know anyone with Viper or BMC on a E46 so can't comment on them but Teddy should be able to sort out one from his range. As an added bonus, you get complimentary man hugs as well (keep it a secret). More you spend, the tighter the hug

Man hugs?!!! hmmm, dont know if i should run now! spoke to ted on the phone earlier, he seems very clue'd up. If its a gruppe m it'll be from him.
If that was a 325i mine should sound very similar so i'm a happy man at the moment!!!
Thanks for your input guys.

Hi ya Raj 328,
Soon as i get the car sorted i'll post pic's straight away. Its gonna be lowered tomorrow (even though girlfriend says it dont need it - whats she know!) and waiting on a front splitter to turn up, should be any day now! A shark fin which i'll fit if it looks right. Should be ordering the Gruppe M today or tomorrow! A few other slight mod's, should all be in done in 10/14 days. It was nice before these things though, 18inch alpina's, tinted windows, xenon's, full leather, fully loaded apart from sat nav, got everything as far as i know! rear window blind is pretty cool and auto folding mirrors! nice little touches! After the mods i'm gonna do i dont know what i'll do next, but i'm sure i'll do something. Its the modding bug! but i want it to look classy, not over the top with stupid massive body kits, you dont need all that on BMW...

welcome dude one you have the induction systems fitted your may benefit from re map. We recently had a 328 done with a dyno chart showing a increase of 19hp, that was on a e36 328. I had my previous e46 328 done by the same chap and hes doing my 330 soon. May be worth looking into if you want a bit more omph under the hood. I'm trying to get the dyno charts of the chap who had his car done so i can post them up always nice to have some backup to claims :-)
i wanna see pics of the car :D

Re-mapping is something i've been thinking about doing in 2/3 months time. What sort of cost's are involved? an extra 20bhp would be very nice especially if cost is not to high.
There's gonna be a rolling road installed in a month or two just down the road from me, so i'll probably get a bit of use on it i think!!!
Never used one so should be good fun, know the owners as well so may get a bit of a discount!!!! hmmm probably not actually...

Thanks mate, got loads of feedback an it looks like i'll be contacting ssdd very soon and placing my order.
Top forum mate. nice to speak to people who actually know what there talking about!...
You sound like you have got a few nice subtle mods already in the pipeline. You're right about not having to do too much to the lines of the BM but they all do help  . I'll be lowering my baby soon too ;) .

Black328i: when you get your induction from Teddy, ask him about re-mapping too. He has contacts to the service and you might get a bigger man hug from him..... :D :D

Dammit I thought nobody was looking :o
Get the SSDD CAI, you'll never look back. Like, never ever. As for remapping, aim and expect for better driveability and low-end grunt. If you expect high-end power gains you'll only be disappointed, but take it from me that low-end is where you want the gains for everyday driving and it does make a difference once you're used to it. Just don't do what I did and sell your car 2 months after you've had it done. :p

Welcome to the forum black328 :)
The meets here are very friendly but be warned, modding is seriously addictive and could effect your wallet :D
I don't know if the brake duct feed changed for the facelift coupe, but my 2005 car does not have it. It looks like I'm going to have to make a hole in the plastic.
Didn't know Teddy's kit uses a non genuine K&N filter.

I am thinking about a remap,
What are the gains in power, effect on consumption & does it affect warranty either original or extended BMW type?
hi ali.

Bro its all good if you have a rice rocket from the land of the rising sun, other than that its a depressing state of afairs.... Give me some time and ill change that :D
SSDD rocks and im sure youll enjoy your dealings with Teddy, man hugs n all ;)
