Back in March I was caught exceeding the speed limit, by a fair margin! not big and not clever and I certainly don't condone it, so don't do it kids, it's dangerous! (and expensive!)
as if the speed(103 in a 60) itself wasn't enough to give me a sabbatical from driving for a period I was sitting on 6 points, so you can imagine that things weren't really in my favour.
there was a plea of not guilty that first went in as we were going to try and get it thrown out, but unfortunately our 'expert' dropped out at the last minute and the other one was going to cost about £2k alone!!! (not guaranteeing anything either) So a deal was done and a reduced speed was given and a guilty plea was then put in.
Now even with this reduced speed it was highly likely that 6 points could be given and therefore would result in a ban.
Today was the day and the punishment given was 5 points and £1000 fine to be paid within one month
