Quick question, I had my aircon serviced about a month ago at qwik fit (you guys may have read the post (http://forum.evotechnik.net/showthread.php?t=15572)). Anyway I have noticed that the aircon is more cool than cold, when the guy checked after re-gas the temperature read about 6 degrees but that was with the thermometer in the air vent. However when I set the temperature to 16 degrees on the climate control I have found that its not really that cold, spent about an hour in the car on Saturday when it was probably about 30 degrees outside and the interior was just cool. My other half drives a Peugeot 206 and in her car, even at 19 degrees its colder than mine. During the last service I had the pollen filter changed as well, don't know if that has any bearing.
Any ideas what I can check to make sure the air con is working at optimum? The air con is definitely working, could it be the thermometer in the dash?

Most likely you have a leak or a faulty condenser. Neither is likely to be cheap to fix, I'm afraid. What area are you in?

 don't like the sound of that. I'm in Brentford, west london. Think I’ll take a Thermometer with me when I drive to my parents this weekend to check the temperature. It shouldn’t be a leak as the machine said it was ok when it was checking for leaks. Is there an easy to verify if it’s the condenser?

have you got your centre vent temp wheel set to 3 blues? Does your auxillary fan run when you switch the aircon on at all? Is the aircon definitely running?

yes to all 3, the aircon is running as you can feel it if you put your hand on the vent. It actually feels like your low on gas, hence cool rather than ice cold.

I would get it regassed at an aircon specialist first and get it healthchecked at the same time. Wouldn't let kwikfit even put air in my tyres.

The reason I asked where you were is that Tyre Man has an aircon service unit that will tell you within minutes if you have a leak and will re-gas/oil the system in around an hour if you haven't. He's at Bagshot, so a little trip out but nothing major if you have a free morning.
