...to have my whole bumper painted?

some ar$ehole scuffed it at the weekend, runs the whole width... :mad:

If it helps, it's steel blue metallic.

I had a quote from Vines BMW, Guildford, for ~£200 'on the car'. Sounds quite a lot to me?

With most paint jobs - you get what you pay for. A bumper respray in metallic isn't too bad at £200. Probably be able to get it done for around £150.

You might as well get a couple of quotes from different places.

If a BMW dealer quoted you £200 to repaint the WHOLE bumper ( not just touch - in or patch ) then that is a BARGAIN..honestly .

i was quoted #140 for painted on car from a reputable bodyshop

£200 is about right for a high quality job - assuming Vines do a high quality job ;)

Well whole bumper from dealer! then it is a bargin!

£200 for the whole bumper.

Go for it. last time i got quote it fix my bonnet (some1 keyed it) They say have to paint half the bonnet cost me £400+!!

if the bumepr has already been sprayed then it dont need re primering etc and just need prep and painting hence the price will be chaper than if u were sprayin a new bumper in bare plastic. 200 from a bmw dealer is a great price like everyone says. If you go to an independant body shop, ul be looking at about 100. -120.

Alternatively, find out which bodyshop Vines use and go direct to them (BMW outsource their bodywork repairs to other bodyshops). You may even get a better deal if you do a cash deal.

Vines usually outsource, Redhill uses Riders Repair Centre in Merstham (01737-642101) who are excellent but not cheap !
You could always give them a call to compare ?
