As some of you are aware, i have recently bought a 2005 E46 Ci sport. It curently does not have e/f mirrors. I desperately want them. Normally i would have bought the M ones from Teddy which would have been awesome. However, apparently BMW have changed the wiring on the facelift models so i cant use Teddy's ones.

What are my options to get the e/f mirrors? could an auto electrician adapt the wiring to accomodate Teddy's mirrors, or is it not quite as straight forward as that?

We fitted them to Harsha's car, so that can't be right.

You should Def have the wiring Loom if you have Memory Seats... if do not have this then you won't. What e46 do you have??? 318, 330 etc??

2004+ cars come with ribbon connectors on their wing mirrors. So the old 12-pin is not compatible. However, people has tried splicing the wires and intergrate the ribbon wiring sequence onto the older 12-pin or just swap the entire motor unit. There's a tread about it HERE (http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=235327&highlight=ribbon+connector)

its a little technical. The motor i need to swap it with, which is it? I dont have e folfing mirrors at the mo. So do i buy the motors for a 2004+ mirror option and then put them in teddys mirrors?

thanks

the factory is working on mirrors for facelift models so just wait and don't start cutting anything just yet lol

The stock mirror motors are different to the ones on the M3 and Teddy's mirrors. They are not easily interchangable as you may need to modify the mounting points.

It's going to cost you an arm and leg buying new motors from dealers and by the time you add in getting a pair of M3 mirrors and painting, you'll be looking at upward of £500.

Kool, thanks for the advice fellas. If teddy's got these mirrors in development, i will definitely wait. Its going to be OEM quality anyway! Once again, thanks for your input fellas!
