Some fuckwit, scumbag, cocksucking, inbreeding piece of shit has keyed my car on the drivers side from the front wing to the rear quarter

I am getting a quote for both sides to be blown in and the bonnet done by fairfeild BMW in essex. No point in going through insurance as by the time they have finished raping me on increased premiums over the next three years or so it would have paid for the work.

How i would have loved to have caught them in the act, I guarantee that they wouldn't be able to hold a key for a good while.

Yup, that was me, didn't know about the keying at that point so was in a happy mood as I had been ragging the car from Lewes on some fantastic roads - not happy now though :( .

I have to look on the brightside and be happy that there is physically no panel damage, the scratches are to the primer but not metal so is really a blowover hopefully keeping the costs to a minimum (well as much as they can be at BMW hahaha). The dealership that will get the job did a great job on my rear bumper when the car was hit last year. I have to get this done fast as I can't stand seeing this. Also, with minty paintwork I guess it means I will probably keep the car for another year rather than until january. Anyone know how much it costs to have the anti stonechip wrap thing done as I may as well get the front bumper done at the same time as they are telling me they may need to blend the bonnet - think I am going to be very very skint soon :( .

That sucks! I don't why these B**tards do these things. I while back someone ripped off both my side indicators whilst parked on the road when i went out one night.

Can you get in painted somewhere else? I thought BMW dealer would turn out very expensive? Or did they give you a good deal?

Will find out tomorrow. The paint is very good on my car so I will ask them to modify the quote. I want the drivers side completely done and just the passenger door rather than the complete side, bonnet blended and remove the stone chips. Guess I am looking at least £1500 for that. I would take it elsewhere but they really did a great job first time and have an awesome rep. Also, I totally trust them with the car as they know how fussy I am and if I have peace of mind it is being cared for there then it is worth paying the extra IMHO. I might even try and get a front bumper from flea bay and get it painted off the car and fit it myself to cut down on the extortionate labour costs associated with bumper removal and refitting plus sanding and filling the chips.

Sorry to hear that Mystic,

I know this type of thing happens daily all over the world...But the amount of forum owners who've had their cars vandalised or broken into in the last month or so, has been worrying.....Its seems like an attack on BM owners.

Nightmare. I was just talking about this sort of shit to Justin on Sat.

I was quoted £500 fitted (bumper, mirrors and bonet) for the 3M stuff on my Alfa GT. It seems to vary hugely tho mate, I was reading an article in a mag last week that was offering to do it for £1500(lower half and front)-£3500 (full car wrap)

Paul before spending £1500 on paint + armourfend, why not look into getting the whole car wrapped in pheonix yellow, to kill both birds with one stone ?

Been there myself but don't get it done straight away cause some people get great pleasure from doing it just after you've just had it re-painted. I've stopped driving into town on Fri-Sat night-not worth it-Drive the wifes instead!!!!! Don't make them get you down, the pleasure of driving that car out weighs these kind of incidents.

I am calling a mate of mine tomorrow who does smart repairs. Some may remember a long tiome back when I had the estoril 330s bumper sorted by this bloke for £150, they removed over 100 stonechips and it looked mint. Can only hope they can make the majority of it disappear ;) .

Were you in the area again, mate? I saw two yellow M3's on the A27 last week in the space of 5 minutes, yet I never even see one Yellow M3 in a week lol!

Pisses me off big time all this mindless vandalism.

At least when they smash the window to steal something I can see what they are after, but just keying it?

These people are a waste of space and should be put in cages

I was actually going to mate but I can't find a CSL in the AUC network and I would never be able to get rid of mine looking the way it does :( . Probably keep this for another year now seeing as I may be spending a sizable chink on paint.

Sorry to hear about the damage paul, I hate those sad little shits, who think its a good laugh to do this, it really pisses me off, you work hard to have nice things and some little tosser thinks he will fcuk it all up for you....

They need their bloody hands taken to with a hammer.

Good luck with the repair mate, I hope it can get blended properly.

Just got the quote from BMW :( . Okay, so as well as the drivers side complete i have asked for the other front wing and door to be done. They also need to blend into the bonnet so is a fairly large job but still £2800 is a shitload of wedge :( :( :( :( . And put a complete bollox on the thing I managed for the first time in my life to put a little pin dent in the drivers door - must have hit a black cat recently :( .

Rang my mate who now has his own bodyshop and to do both sides, bionnet and bumper it is £1000, just don't know if I can send it outside of BMW to get all this paint done - will be difficult to shout at a mate if it looks a mess when i get it. Looking towards getting insurance involved now :( :( :( .

Am really sorry to hear this Paul. That is a lot of cash from BMW. There are plenty out there that can do just as good a job for a lot less. As you say, your mate has his own body shop. You may find it hard to shout at a mate, but then as a mate, he will make sure they spend a little more time to get a good job done in the first place.

lumus
17-07-2007, 11:22 AM
do we have any idea what impact this will have on your insurance premiums? is there a way to find out? deffo worth looking into.
Its easier shelling out the £2+ over the period of a 'X' years in rasied premiums, than it is in one big chunk now. the raise might not even be THAT bad

mystic sport
17-07-2007, 11:35 AM
My excess is £750 on this car so that coupled with raised premiums means i will get hit hard i reckon. I 'think' I will let my mate have a go. At least my two doors will look the same colour as it has been painted previous to me owning it and they are a slightly different shade to the rest of the car. Just need to possibly get a strass lip to cheer me up. I just need his assurance that the car won't be driven at all and will be locked up in the workshop each night.

I reckon you should get your mate to do it. He will make sure he does a good job

Must be that time of month, 2 of my mates got their BMW's keyed too.

If your already doubting your mates skills then don't take it there chap, if you know he is good then go for it, I would then tell him to just take his time sorting it and that there is no rush.

Good Luck.

unlucky paul, it really sucks when some numbskull messes with your car.

If you want another quote for the paint work gimme a shout i'll give you my guys number, he's done some touch up work on the banana & its faultless.....plus he did my boot and the respray on the CSL so he's worth his weight in chips :D

mystic sport
17-07-2007, 05:15 PM
Thanks for all the nice words and offers of help :D . The car is booked in for august the 20th. My mate is doing the work and I only found out today he does restoratipon work primarily on BMWs through BMW Car Club, has his own mint 2002ti and has assured me it will look faultless. Going to cost me just under £1200 but both sides are being fully done plus the bonnet and bumper so no stonechips at all :D . I feel really happy that the car will actually look perfect again as the stonechips were a concern of mine. Just roll on one month and she will look pretty again :D .

All's well that end well mate and hopefully the end will be a spotless mint banana!

Still, £1200 of unscheduled expense is a PITA.

Let's hope no more black cats get crossed!

Hi Paul sorry to hear about that, i know you have already book your car in but if you want give MAS a call 01795427300 When my car was vandalised a couple yr ago i only paid £900 for almost a full respray not including front and rear bumpers every other panel need doing.

He does a lot of work on BMWs and he uses the same paint as BM. Comes from Germany, well thats what he told me a couple years ago :o

Give you an idea my cars booked in next week to repair my rear bumper
Needs plastic welding fiber glassing on in side, remove, refit and respray. all for £150

I thought i had problems, when they put a brick through my rear screen and scratched the roof, nothing in comparison to you mate. "May they be cursed with the fleas of a 1000 camels arm pits!!!" Nice one, glad you got sorted ok.

I wouldn't have thought my keying was worse than having a roof scratched and a brick through the rear window - the scum bags need to have their hands ironed flat  .
