View Full Version : OEM LEDs Fitted Today
So, I finally managed to get them fitted and the ECU flashed today. I am just sooo pleased with the results :D [cool .
Also no problems with them flashing the ECU so they work a treat and only charged me £35.

LEDs are mighty fine this is for sure, nice mate very nice [cool
Cheers peeps for all the praises. I really do have to say that anyone even remotely thinking of doing this should just do it and not think about it. It really has freshened the rear end up a treat :D . I think I am gonna have to de-badge it now and de-chrome the sides.
@Silver: My car is actually a 2000 model (but don't tell no-one ;) ) so they will work, but you do need to change the LCM (the light switch in the cabin) but this is where the price gets hicked as they are not cheap (cost me £170 from a contact ;) , dealer charge £180+VAT).
Will change my sig ASAP...

Nice mod, wouldnt think something so simple could change the look of the rear so much.

It's true, sometimes it is the simpler things that make a big impact. De-locking cleans up the sides (but I deffo need to de-chrome as well to finish it off).
More cash needed (donations welcome :D ).

Very interesting Westside.
So basically you can't get the LED retrofit's to shine like the cars which have it factory fitted... Is that right?
If this is the case I'm gonna go down to my local Stealer and hit him with a wheelbrace!
I've been charged almost 200quid to try and solve this problem by BMW with no avail [bang

Brake Force Dsiplay has never been activated for the UK market as far as I know. And dealers will not do it. That's why we bought modules like THIS (http://sankeys.demon.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1592) to activate the function.
Your LEDs will light up but only the inside LEDs. The outer rings will only partially light up when you turn on the headlamps. However, with brake force display (like pic above) the LEDs will light up progressively depending on how much pressure you put on the brake pedal. With emergency braking, you'll get full illumination including the outer LED rings. They are flippin' bright if you haven't seen them before.

All UK cars, factory LEDs or retrofit. Have a look at mine next time, it's like having xenon brake lights at full activation :D
EZ, I see now. Hmmmm. Nick you will have a PM soon ;) .

Fitting is also very simple and only takes 10 minutes.
The only problem is YOU never get to see it  Thats unless you drive away from a shiney fronted building and brake hard whilst looking in the rear view mirror :D
