Anyone know how to replace speakers?

Hey guys,

another 1 for the diy archive...

blown 2 speakers 1 front nearside and 1 back nearside.... got new ones just aint got a clue what 2 do with them now... tried leavin them under my pillow and night 2 see if the bmw fairy would fit them but they are still under my pillow in the morning >.<

are these tweeters or woofers? mostly likely have to take off the door card, to reveal the speaker holding screws, simple case of direct replacement, should only be on small connector at the back of the speaker.

What year/model is your car?

dude if there the same speakers as ones already in there then quit being a girl and put em in :D.....nothing to it...just take the door card off. If other ones parcel shelf just pry the grill off. If you want you can pay me to do it ;) :D

Taking the door card off is easy. It sounds like your wrecking it but its fine. Just remember that when all the clips are undone, all the wires are still connected so dont just walk away with it or you'll pull wires from connectors.

Also, and I'm talking from experience here, remember to properly reconnect the door opening mechanism. Its not very attractive having to get out of a coupe by clambering out of the passenger side door.

As the other peeps have said very easy. About 5 screws and the rest are just pop out clips. The speaker is mounted to the back of the door card. Just remove the grill for the rears.

mate i'll have 2 spare standard speakers as i;m gonna fit in my JBL thursday night :-)
