Hi Andy
just a quickie

I have the standard business H/U with standard speakers.
is it possible just to upgrade my front speaker without having to change or upgrade anything else?

does it have to be a certain make or type to fit the standard front speakers?

many thanks in advance

hello mate,

you can chance them so long as you havent got the hk setup. the doors will take a 6.5" component setup. usual prefered brands are jl audio, rainbow, mb quartz and focal. its fairly obvious which of these i prefer!

Standard speakers are of a component nature anyway - with a seperate tweeter.

For the tweeters may be not as mine were a perfect fit, but the midbass may need one. I think they can be purchased or you could make some up using MDF (which is what mine are and they perform better if it's done properly).

You will need an mbf backing board / baffle to fit them in. Its only a couple hours work from someone who knows what their doing to get them in place. Its the wiring that takes the time after that, and again, not much time if you know what your doing.

Why not get andy to fit your speakers for you? You can guaruntee that its as good as it can be that way.

Heck, if you don't want to pay for him to do all your wiring, you could go for that yourself.. and just get him to actually fit the speaker to the door. I would definitely recommend you just let him do it all though.

And by the way, if your not changing anything except the front speakers, I would recommend a set of VR650CSi's for a 'much better but not too pricey' option. You will soon wish you had it all amped up though, trust me. The difference between head unit and amplifier is absolutely incredible
