As the title suggests, I'm now back from getting my SK+ installed by infinitas in Germany.
Firstly, if you haven't been to Germany, go! The Autobahns are unbeleivable, you can have soo much fun. I maxed the car out at 155mph on the way out there, and got took by a SL55amg who must have been doing at least 175mph.
When I got there, I dropped the car to Infinitas and Christian the MD took me round the factory. It took 1.5 days to fit and while I was there, Christian showed great hospitality by taking us to his house for a barbecue (it should be on MTV Cribs) and to meet his family, taking us for lunch etc. and generally making sure we weren't bored out there! We also took his supercharged Z4 for a rinse. He told us not to take the DSC off, yea right! The Z4 got smoked! It was fun!

Anyway, after the SK+ was installed and test driven, they spend another 2 hours checking every screw and bolt by hand. That's the germans for you!

The way home was more fun, never driven so sick! The SK+ gives a very nice noticable increase in power and torque. The noise too is amazing! the car feels sooooooooooooo much faster now, and now feels like a true sports car, where as standard it felt more like a cruiser.

I'd fully recomend the SK+ to anyone with a 6cylinder 3 series. He also showed me the blueprints for the aftercooler which they'll be bringing out in the Autumn. It looks the nuts. It sits on top of the engine like the one in the Nissan Pulsar GTIR. He said that with the aftercooler, they also double the boost pressure by adding smaller pullies and will give 325bhp. I've already put my name down for one.

All in all, an excellent product and unbeleivable power increase for your money.

Will post pic's shortly.

Well done mate... !

You must have had fun, I know I did when I was there.

Very Nice guys... no?

Can't wait to check out the car!

Get it on a Dyno.... in fact maybe we setup a group Dyno day. Would be interesting to see, some of the Mod'd motors, and see what they are pushing out on the same Dyno.

Congrats dude! [cool [cool

Chris and Dirk are just such nice people, make you feel really at home. I mean how often would anyone show you blueprints of their new project and also let you in to their S/C assembly room? Chris is a genuine enthusiast.

The best part of the drive I remember was the motorway across Belgium and Netherlands, flat out man :D

Get the pics up [cool

Lee330, it's gonna be about 3,000 euro's, not much for increasing the power to 325bhp! Regarding the clutch, in gear it's fine, when changing quickly it'll slip but I think that's just the characteristic's of the stock clutch. Durgesh, do you get this with your new clutch?
Westside - I had loads of stonechips any way, got to get the front end repainted one day! You wanna get yourself one of these kit's mate, you'll be amazed!

You have to pay one way or the other to have fun at 155MPH ;)

My left indicator flew off at V-max in Belgium. It happen soooo quickly I thought I lost my air filter....LOL :D After that, the car was even quicker with cold air rammed directly into the engine bay :D :D :D

200 miles? seriously? Slow down dude! You're racking up the mileage REALLY fast! You don't want to be accused of actually enjoying the car!

Yup Kris.. sounds like the stock clutch is your car is gone. You are saying it was slipping before anywayz a little.

It will do it on changes at first, then it will happen when you floor it in gear, after that... your car will not move. So change it ASAP.

My New Clutch is in, and I LOVE it sooooo much. Its like a new car, new Rims, New Clutch, New Flywheel, New Suspension, New Break Pads, and a few other little things. ;)

So whats your take on the M5 UUC package. How much did it cost in total?
Think i might go for this one. Funny because i thought my clutch was on the way out, but it hasnt slipped once since the cars been running again, no matter how much stick i give it, its new though so might start showing signs soon.

Yup, I'll probably go for the UUC clutch and flywheel as well, is it true that their flywheel doesn't make the rattle at idle? If not, how hard is it to raise the idle by 250 rpm?

kris d

Trip cost abotu 500 quid including petrol, accomodation, food, car rental etc, Eurostar etc.
SK+ was 4,700 euro's fitted including VAT so all in all about 3,800quid, the best few grand I've ever spent!

Its all installed... it's so much better too... go for it guys!!!

It does however still rattle.... I am going to change the MT fuild I hear that helps.. need to get hold of some RedLine.

I'll update you with the results.

The UUC setup is prefect of for the both of you guys. I love my car all over again, so easy and hassle free to drive.

god that trip over didnt cost much at all did it.... do they do m3's?

lee330sport

Dont think they do M3's just yet. Ive only seen AA sc's for the M3.

They said they only do E36 M3's not the E46 ones, as the engines on the E46 M3's are prone to braking if you add too much power!
Is the flywheel easy to fit if I'm changing the clutch at the same time?

Cheers

Since you're taking the gearbox off the car when you chance the clutch, you might as well upgrade the flywheel as well. Saves a lot in labour cost.

Do you know of any way to adjust the rpm's at idle by say 250rpm?

I'm afraid not. You will need to take into account your auto choke as well when you play around with the tick over revs. Come on, the noise is not that bad, it's HARDCORE....lightweight flywheel [banana [banana [banana .....I love it ;)

Where are the pics???? [hiya

I know I know, it's not so bad but things like that get on my nerves!
On my E36 M3 the clutch release baring used to rattle and it killed me! I had to keep the clutch dipped at standstill to get rid of it and found myself dipping the clutch everywhere!
Any way, I'll try and find out, and also wait untill Durgesh put's some redline in his gearbox! Deffinately something I wanna do tho!
