Ok, so we're an expanding forum and i thought the mods might like this a bit for publicity etc etc.

We have such a wide audience around the Uk and some members dotted around the world, and i thought that this would be ample for a "charity" day.

You guys all have somethin kinda special in your cars, all are unique and of course we have Roy and giv with the mental banana and thier contacts with radio and some of you guys have other contacts.

Why dont we organise a big charity event for example a drive from here to germany and the ring we get to enjoy ourselfs and we get some kick ass cheque for a charity for the vote of EvoT

of course we could have the potential to be on a "local" newsnight and a few local rags the day after displaying more EvoT adverts than a little, which could gain more members also in this and more business for the EvoT sponsors which keeps everyone happy?

Has this been done / attempted before and what do you guys think of the idea of it,

It will take a bit of planning anyways but it wont be nothing more than your average meet and it'll only take a day out of your guys time (maybe more if your further away) but you all know how fun it is at meets, and at the same time we do the positives above.

Many thanks
M

I guess the Evotechnik day at Bruntingthorpe - with charity buckets - was just a figment of my imagination.

EvoT also appear at other BMW shows as a crew - where those shows make sizeable donations to various charities.

all ideas are good ideas and yes EvoTechnik actively support charities. We raised over £200 at the inaugural EvoTechfest, we raised a similar amount at the recent Brunty day.

If anyone wants to organise anything to do with the forum in association with a charity collection, then we'll support it as fully as we are able

Just to add, if anyone is going to organise anything on behalf of a charity, please organise it on behalf of that charity and not on behalf of self-publicising the forum. We don't need to 'use' charities to benefit ourselves, that's something that goes quite against the grain, but if we can benefit charities through our size/contacts/whatever then I don't think anyone would have a problem with doing it as per previous ones.

I concur with Dan.

If there are charities that anyone is personally involved with or touched by then organising a EvoT backed day might be a good way of engaging a larger audience about that charities aims and achievements.

Can we throw in Dan too? In fact, can we just throw him? Might take a few of us, though.
